Your responsibilities will extend to meticulously analyzing experiment results and quantifying the tangible impact of your models on our business objectives. A key differentiator at The Zebra is that our data scientists are empowered to write the production code for the models they build, with dedicated platform support from software engineers, eliminating the need for cumbersome handoffs.

You should be adept at prioritizing simple, effective solutions that can be continuously iterated upon and improved. A strong product and business acumen is essential, enabling you to frame complex questions analytically and derive actionable insights. Success in this role hinges on your ability to quickly build trust and foster mutual understanding with stakeholders, thereby reducing ambiguity and driving the implementation of solutions that align perfectly with our business goals.

- • Proactively identifying and driving the collection and integration of new, valuable data sources to enhance our analytical capabilities and model performance.
- • Writing clean, efficient, and maintainable production-level code to operationalize models, adhering to best practices in software engineering.
- • Actively participating in peer code reviews, providing constructive feedback to enhance code quality and promote knowledge sharing.
- • Mentoring and guiding junior data scientists, fostering their growth and contributing to the overall technical development of the team.
- • Driving continuous improvement initiatives across our data science platform, methodologies, and operational practices.
- • While we are open to remote work arrangements across the contingent United States, please note that we are still in the process of establishing our infrastructure to fully support work in all states. We currently support employees who prefer to be fully remote, work exclusively in-office, or adopt a hybrid approach. However, we will not be supporting work based out of California, New York, Massachusetts, and New Jersey at this time.
- • The ideal candidate will demonstrate a strong sense of ownership, exceptional communication and collaboration skills, and an unwavering dedication to continuous learning and improvement.
