- • As a Senior Data Scientist on Reddit’s Ads Data Science team, you will play a key role in developing and applying cutting-edge data science models and methods to improve advertiser experience and the performance of Reddit’s advertising platform through data-driven insights.
- • Day to day, you will design, develop, and apply data science solutions to inform improvements in advertiser experience and the ad platform; analyze large-scale datasets to identify trends, patterns, and insights; collaborate with product managers and engineers to define product requirements and translate them into data science solutions; develop machine learning models and data science methods to improve anomaly detection, prediction, and pattern recognition; communicate findings and recommendations to stakeholders across the organization; stay up-to-date on the latest advancements in machine learning and data science; and mentor and guide junior data scientists on the team.

- • The Ads Data Science team leverages data to maximize advertiser value through robust data foundations, metrics, and strategic insights generated via experimentation and cutting-edge data science methods. You will work on challenging problems in ads and platform measurement, campaign and creative management, advertiser growth and retention, monetization, and the intersection of brand and community engagement. In this role, you can achieve significant impact by driving advertiser value, improving platform performance, and advancing your expertise in machine learning, statistical modeling, and causal inference while mentoring others and contributing to a highly collaborative, innovative team.
🎯 Requirements
- • Advanced degree (Masters or Ph.D.) in a quantitative field such as Statistics, Mathematics, Physics, Economics, or Operations Research
- • For M.S. holders: 5+ years of industry experience in applied science or data science roles; for Ph.D. holders: 4+ years of industry experience
- • Strong understanding of statistical modeling, machine learning algorithms, causal inference, and experimental design
- • Experience with large-scale data processing and analysis using tools such as Spark, Hadoop, or Hive; knowledge of BigQuery a plus
- • Proficiency in Python or R and experience with machine learning libraries such as scikit-learn, TensorFlow, or PyTorch
- • Experience with SQL and relational databases
- • Excellent communication and presentation skills
- • Passion for Reddit and the online advertising industry
