• • As a Senior Data Scientist, Analytics (Regulatory Reporting) at Airwallex, you will be instrumental in shaping and executing the analytics strategy for our critical Regulatory Compliance and Financial Crime Compliance functions. • • You will serve as the primary analytics partner, translating complex regulatory requirements into actionable data logic, validation frameworks, and insightful self-service analytics. Your expertise will be crucial for providing regulators, auditors, and senior leadership with the confidence and clarity they need.
• • A core responsibility will be leading the analytics and data design for key regulatory reports. This encompasses the entire lifecycle, from understanding and translating initial requirements to defining data logic, implementing rigorous testing protocols, and ensuring successful go-live. You will be the driving force behind the accuracy and integrity of these essential submissions.
• • You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including Regulatory Compliance, Financial Crime Compliance (FCC), Finance, DataOps, and Data Engineering. A key focus will be on standardizing the use of common data dimensions such as accounts, FX, products, and entities across all reports, leveraging the established regulatory reporting data foundation to ensure consistency and efficiency.
• • Working hand-in-hand with Data Engineering, you will play a vital role in defining automated test suites and manual Quality Assurance (QA) playbooks. These processes will be critical for validating the accuracy and completeness of reports before they are submitted to regulatory bodies, minimizing the risk of errors and discrepancies.
• • To ensure transparency and auditability, you will implement and champion snapshotting and versioning approaches. This will enable the consistent regeneration and explanation of historical reports as of specific dates, which is vital for responding to regulatory inquiries (RFIs), audits, and supervisory examinations.
• • When anomalies, RFIs, or audit findings emerge, you will conduct deep-dive analyses to quantify their impact, pinpoint root causes across various products and entities, and propose effective remediation options. Your analytical rigor will be key to resolving complex issues and preventing recurrence.
• • You will actively shape the requirements for a scalable regulatory reporting and risk analytics platform. Your insights will guide the development of tools and infrastructure that can support Airwallex's evolving needs and increasing regulatory scrutiny.
• • Leading cross-functional collaboration is central to this role. You will act as the primary analytics liaison, transforming open-ended regulatory and risk-related questions into well-defined analytical projects and strategic roadmaps.
