• • As a Senior Data Scientist within Tilt's Methodologies group, you will be instrumental in architecting and developing the foundational deep learning models that underpin our "people-first" credit philosophy. This role goes beyond traditional credit scoring, leveraging cutting-edge techniques to uncover the true financial potential in individuals.
• • You will be at the forefront of innovation, exploring and implementing advanced deep learning architectures such as neural networks, embeddings, and transformers to transform complex financial data into fair and accessible credit solutions.
• • Your primary responsibility will be to own the end-to-end development, testing, and deployment of these sophisticated models, ensuring they are not only accurate but also robust and scalable for real-world application.
• • This is a high-impact role where you will influence the strategic direction of our credit methodologies. You will act as a bridge-builder, collaborating closely with Engineering and Product teams to translate theoretical model capabilities into practical, effective solutions for our lending platform.
• • You will be expected to demonstrate "first principles thinking," meticulously breaking down complex problems to understand the root cause and identify the most effective solutions, rather than relying on off-the-shelf approaches.
• • A key aspect of your role will involve translating intricate data insights into clear, actionable recommendations and solutions that directly benefit our lending platform and, most importantly, our customers.
• • You will take full ownership of your workstreams, from initial hypothesis generation and data exploration to the rigorous measurement of outcomes and impact on customer financial well-being.
• • Beyond individual contributions, you will play a vital role in elevating the team's collective expertise by sharing your findings, mentoring junior colleagues, and actively contributing to the growth of our deep learning capabilities.
• • Success in this role will be measured not solely by technical metrics like model accuracy, but by the tangible positive impact your work has on the financial outcomes for Tilt's customers and partners.
• • You will be empowered to define the future of our credit assessment, moving beyond predefined roadmaps to proactively identify opportunities and chart the course for innovation.
• • In your initial 30 days, you will immerse yourself in Tilt's data architecture and the core mission of the Methodologies group, gaining a deep understanding of existing credit models and pinpointing initial areas for deep learning enhancement.
• • Within your first 60 days, you will establish your own machine learning infrastructure, including compute, pipelines, and data handling, and commence training initial iterations of new models, operating with a high degree of autonomy.
• • By the 90-day mark, you will have delivered a functional prototype and the first version of a production-ready model, demonstrating your ability to independently drive projects from hypothesis to tangible output.
• • You will be recognized for your ability to proactively identify and propose next steps based on your first-principles analysis, and for successfully deploying code into production-ready environments.
