• • As a Senior Data Security Engineer at Coinbase, you will be at the forefront of protecting the company's valuable data assets within the rapidly evolving cryptocurrency and blockchain ecosystem. This role is critical in safeguarding Coinbase's operations and user trust by developing and implementing robust data loss prevention (DLP) strategies and capabilities.
• • You will take ownership of expanding and enhancing our existing DLP programs, designing and executing long-term strategies to fortify our security posture against sophisticated data security threats. This involves a proactive approach to identifying vulnerabilities and implementing controls before incidents occur.
• • A key aspect of your role will be to evaluate and direct complex security designs and controls across a decentralized technology environment. Your challenge will be to promote security excellence without hindering the speed and agility of business operations, ensuring that security measures are effective yet practical.
• • You will be responsible for the implementation and deployment of cutting-edge DLP tools and technologies. This will require close collaboration with cross-functional teams, including endpoint security, information technology, and other engineering groups, to ensure seamless integration and maximum effectiveness.
• • To drive operational efficiency, you will leverage advanced technologies such as Large Language Models (LLMs) and agentic AI. Your goal will be to enhance the performance and scalability of our DLP Engineering and Operations, making them more intelligent and responsive.
• • Embracing an automation-first mindset, you will champion and drive initiatives to streamline and scale DLP operations. This includes identifying opportunities for automation, developing scripts and tools, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
• • You will be instrumental in producing quantitative and qualitative metrics to provide Data Protection Leadership with clear insights into the programmatic impact, challenges, and successes of our DLP efforts. This data-driven approach will inform strategic decisions and resource allocation.
• • Collaboration is paramount. You will work closely with Security and Privacy Teams, and lead cross-functional data protection initiatives. This involves coordinating efforts, aligning strategies, and ensuring a unified approach to data security across the organization.
• • You will contribute to a culture of excellence by mentoring peers, sharing your deep knowledge, and fostering a collaborative learning environment. Your expertise will help elevate the skills and capabilities of the entire team.
• • You will partner with engineering, product development, and compliance teams to ensure the timely remediation of identified security risks and vulnerabilities, ensuring that data protection is integrated into the product lifecycle.
• • Working in concert with risk teams, you will measure the effectiveness of implemented controls and proactively address changes in global laws and regulations that impact data protection, ensuring compliance and mitigating legal risks.
