• • As a Senior Database Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in managing the complete lifecycle of our critical database systems. This encompasses administration, automation, and proactive troubleshooting within a large-scale, multi-tenant Kubernetes environment. Your expertise will be instrumental in advancing our GitOps and Helm-centric deployment strategy, with a primary focus on achieving zero-downtime upgrades and ensuring optimal performance and unwavering stability for our core platform services. This position presents an exceptional opportunity to refine your technical proficiencies and gain invaluable, hands-on experience with sophisticated cloud database architectures and the intricacies of container orchestration.
• • You will be responsible for the end-to-end design, implementation, and meticulous maintenance of our database infrastructure. This involves leveraging Kubernetes constructs such as StatefulSets, Operators, and Helm charts to guarantee that our databases are not only reliable and self-healing but also inherently scalable to meet evolving demands. A key aspect of your role will be to own the entire deployment lifecycle for our database clusters. This includes rigorous management of version control for Helm charts and configuration templates, ensuring consistency and traceability throughout the deployment process.
• • You will provide comprehensive support and administration for our production database systems. This entails proactively instrumenting systems for performance monitoring, security auditing, and availability checks within the containerized ecosystem. Your insights will be crucial in identifying potential bottlenecks and ensuring the robust health of our database operations. A significant part of your contribution will involve executing zero-downtime upgrades and complex migrations for both major and minor database releases. This requires a deep understanding of stateful application management in Kubernetes and the ability to develop and maintain sophisticated Helm hooks and custom scripts to automate these intricate operations.
• • Furthermore, you will be tasked with managing and optimizing the performance of our backend data stores. This includes ensuring data consistency and integrity across the dynamic lifecycle of Kubernetes pods, which can be subject to restarts and rescheduling. Your work will directly impact the reliability and efficiency of data access for our applications.
• • You will also contribute to the development and maintenance of automation tools and scripts, primarily using Bash and Python. These tools will be specifically designed to streamline Kubernetes management tasks. This includes automating the provisioning of users, managing secrets securely, and monitoring the overall state of the cluster, thereby enhancing operational efficiency and reducing manual intervention.
