• • Your primary responsibility will be to enhance the stability, availability, and reliability of our globally distributed, cloud-based infrastructure that supports our application for a vast user base. You will be instrumental in ensuring our systems can handle petabytes of data and serve millions of requests daily with unwavering performance.
• • You will develop a profound understanding of how ClickUp's intricate systems behave, scale, interact, and potentially fail. This deep insight will be crucial for identifying risks and opportunities for proactive remediation, ensuring the resilience of our platform.
• • Take ownership and drive the incident management process across the entire engineering organization. You will actively participate in our follow-the-sun model, ensuring continuous support and rapid response to any critical events, minimizing downtime and impact on our users.
• • Define and implement Service Level Objectives (SLOs) and Service Level Indicators (SLIs) for all our services. This includes introducing the concept of error budgeting to guide our reliability efforts and ensure we meet our performance targets.
• • Own and significantly improve our observability stack across all services. This involves enhancing logging, monitoring, and alerting capabilities to provide comprehensive visibility into system health and performance.
• • Design and build sophisticated software solutions that bolster the reliability and operability of our large-scale distributed systems. Your contributions will directly impact our ability to handle massive datasets and high traffic volumes.
• • Develop and implement tools and automation strategies to eliminate toil and reduce operational overhead. You will create frameworks, processes, and best practices that will be adopted across the entire ClickUp Engineering department, fostering efficiency and consistency.
• • Automate critical aspects of ClickUp's engineering processes. This will minimize operational risks and maximize the speed and agility of our innovation cycles, allowing us to deploy new features and improvements rapidly and safely.
• • Manage capacity and performance planning to ensure our infrastructure scales effectively, both on public and private cloud environments across the globe. This includes forecasting future needs and implementing solutions to meet them.
• • Collaborate closely with development teams to embed reliability best practices into the software development lifecycle, fostering a culture of shared responsibility for system health.
• • Contribute to the design and implementation of disaster recovery and business continuity plans, ensuring our services remain available even in the face of unforeseen events.
