You will sit at the heart of a brand-new UK-based squad whose sole mission is to build a modern, serverless micro-service ecosystem that monetises content and powers comparison journeys for millions of US consumers.
- • Architect and deliver scalable, secure, and high-performance systems from the ground up. You will own services end-to-end—designing data models, writing clean code, setting up infrastructure-as-code with Terraform, containerising with Docker, orchestrating with Kubernetes, and automating every deploy through GitHub Actions. Your work will run on AWS Lambda, API Gateway, DynamoDB, S3, CloudFront, and more, monitored obsessively with New Relic and semantic logging.
- • Craft immersive, lightning-fast front-end experiences in Vue (or React/Angular if the use-case demands) that delight users and convert. You will bridge the gap between pixel-perfect UI and rock-solid APIs, ensuring accessibility, SEO, and Core Web Vitals are never an afterthought. Expect to write TypeScript on both ends of the stack, leverage GraphQL for flexible data fetching, and sprinkle in ChatGPT-driven personalisation where it adds real value.
- • Collaborate daily with a tight-knit, senior-level product and engineering team spread across London, Europe, and the US. We run lean, product-driven sprints where story points take a back seat to shipped features. You will pair program, lead white-board architecture sessions, review PRs with empathy, and mentor mid-level engineers—all while staying laser-focused on outcomes for the US market.
- • Build bespoke internal tools that supercharge editorial, SEO, and business-intelligence teams. From real-time content-performance dashboards to self-service A/B testing consoles, your tooling will shave hours off manual workflows and unlock new revenue streams across Forbes’ extensive portfolio of household publisher brands.
- • Exploit the immaturity and vast scale of the US comparison market. You will experiment with green-field features—MVP enquiry forms, click-to-call integrations, product stores, aggregator layers, referral marketplaces, and end-to-end attribution tracking—iterating rapidly with customer analytics and telemetry to find product-market fit before competitors even notice the gap.
- • Champion a culture of continuous improvement. We deploy multiple times a day, rely on 90%+ automated test coverage, and treat every incident as a learning opportunity. You will refine SLIs/SLOs, drive down latency, and ensure PCI-grade security without slowing delivery. If a new AWS service or open-source library can shave milliseconds or minutes, you will be the first to spike it and share findings at Friday demos.
- • Influence technical strategy at the highest level. You will sit in roadmap sessions with the Director of Business Development, advise on build-vs-buy decisions, and help prioritise the backlog based on projected ROI. Your voice will shape the long-term vision of becoming the ultimate comparison technology platform for US consumers.
