- • Own and develop ZayZoon’s infrastructure-as-code using CloudFormation with a focus on serverless AWS resources including ECS, Fargate, and Lambda.
- • Instrument and analyze daily infrastructure and Ruby on Rails application metrics using AWS tooling (Athena, CloudTrail) and third-party observability platforms (Grafana, OTel, CloudWatch).
- • Build, optimize, and maintain CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions, CodeDeploy, and CodePipeline to accelerate developer velocity, implementing blue/green deployments and intelligent auto-scaling.
- • Manage and plan upgrades, playbooks, and downtime for critical database systems including RDS and Redshift.
- • Partner with application developers to transform repeatable infrastructure needs—such as environment provisioning and job execution—into reusable platform services.
- • Project and implement AWS cost savings initiatives including reserved instances and resource optimization programs.
- • Collaborate with risk and security teams to maintain SOC-2 and cybersecurity compliance, and actively evaluate and remediate Critical and High CVEs across all services.
- • Work closely with application developers on shared metrics, database performance tuning, and load testing.
- • Collaborate with data engineers to support data warehouse development, ELT, and ETL processes.
- • Participate in agile ceremonies including sprint planning, story grooming, and daily standups.
- • Champion secure coding practices and SDLC standards across all infrastructure and deployment workflows.
- • Maintain a bias toward rapid POC development, validating solutions before scaling to production-grade, scalable features.
- • Prioritize observability and traceability to proactively identify root causes of incidents and respond with urgency when issues arise.
- • Operate with a sleeves-rolled-up attitude to support cross-functional teams during incidents and system optimizations.
- • Ensure all infrastructure is designed for scalability, reliability, and security while enabling developer autonomy through self-service platforms.
🎯 Requirements
- • 5+ years of cloud infrastructure engineering experience with deep, production-level AWS expertise
- • 2+ years of AWS experience including certification and deployment of production applications
- • Strong proficiency with Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC), specifically CloudFormation
- • Hands-on experience with containerization technologies (Docker, ECS, ECR)
- • Experience using Python for DevOps tooling and scripting
- • Experience analyzing performance issues and building dashboards using observability platforms like OTel and Grafana
