📋 Description

• Senior Director, Lead Software Engineering at Fivetran Inc. is a pivotal leadership role responsible for driving technical excellence and innovation in the development of a dashboard and data modeling interface that powers the modern data stack for thousands of companies. This role sits at the intersection of product strategy and engineering execution, ensuring that Fivetran’s mission to make data access as simple and reliable as electricity is realized through scalable, high-quality software solutions.
• The person will lead a small but world-class engineering team, owning end-to-end delivery of core product features, driving deep integrations with existing platforms, and balancing feature scope, technical debt, and delivery speed. They will actively contribute to architectural decisions, review code, mentor junior engineers, and leverage AI-assisted development tools (including Claude Code and MCPs) to enhance productivity and code quality across the software development lifecycle. Daily responsibilities include guiding technical direction, fostering a culture of engineering excellence, and ensuring alignment between product goals and technical implementation.

🎯 Requirements

• Proven experience as a senior engineering leader with a track record of managing and scaling high-performing software teams in fast-paced, product-driven environments.
• Deep proficiency in modern full-stack development, including Python, Django, JavaScript, and SQL, with hands-on experience building and maintaining data-intensive applications.
• Demonstrated ability to effectively use AI coding assistants (such as Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, or similar) and conversational AI systems to generate code, draft technical documentation, and accelerate software development workflows.
