- • Senior Director, Strategic Payer Relations is a senior leadership role responsible for managing and advancing strategic relationships with assigned payer organizations to drive network access, retention, reimbursement performance, and overall relationship health.
- • Day to day, the role involves leading executive-level engagement with payer stakeholders (Director, VP, SVP), conducting quarterly business reviews, developing master account plans, and collaborating with internal teams on contracting, clinical, finance, and analytics to optimize payer performance and resolve access or reimbursement issues.
- • The role operates within the newly formed Payer Relations and Market Strategy organization at AnewHealth, a national pharmacy care management company formed from the combination of ExactCare and Tabula Rasa HealthCare, serving over 100,000 people across all 50 states with more than 1,400 team members.
- • The person in this role can learn and achieve scalable function development by contributing to processes, tools, and best practices for Strategic Payer Relations, mentoring peers, supporting onboarding, and helping shape engagement models during the function’s formation phase under the Vice President, Strategic Payer Relations.
🎯 Requirements
- • Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree preferred
- • 10+ years of progressive experience in payer relations, health plan engagement, healthcare strategy, contracting support, or related healthcare leadership roles at payer organizations including PBMs, Health Plans or government payer organizations
- • Demonstrated experience engaging senior-level payer stakeholders (Director, VP, SVP)
- • Strong understanding of payer structures, reimbursement models, network access dynamics, and healthcare economics
- • Proven ability to operate effectively in complex, matrixed organizations
- • Strong executive communication skills, both written and verbal
