- • Design, build, and maintain internal platforms and tools used by People, Finance, Ops, Sales, and Engineering teams to increase organizational efficiency and enable faster movement across departments.
- • Own features end-to-end: from scoping and architecture through implementation, testing, deployment, and monitoring, holding code quality to the same standard as customer-facing products.
- • Build API-first integrations connecting HRIS, CRM, finance platforms, knowledge management systems, and developer tools into a unified, reliable internal ecosystem.
- • Eliminate data silos by designing clean data pipelines that maintain a single source of truth across disparate business systems.
- • Design systems for reliability, performance, and scale, ensuring they can support company growth of 5–10x without degradation.
- • Own services in production: implement monitoring, alerting, incident response, and lead post-mortems for internal tools.
- • Develop AI/LLM-powered features into internal workflows—including automating approvals, knowledge retrieval, reporting, content generation, and operational processes—with a focus on shipping production-grade systems, not just prototypes.
- • Stay current on emerging AI capabilities and proactively identify opportunities for step-change improvements in internal productivity.
- • Collaborate directly with business stakeholders to understand pain points, translate them into technical solutions, and help shape requirements without waiting for formal specs.
- • Pair with and mentor junior engineers through code reviews, design reviews, and leading by example to raise the technical bar across the team.
- • Influence technical direction by proposing architectural improvements, challenging assumptions, and driving best practices across engineering and cross-functional teams.
- • Write clean, well-tested, production-grade code in at least one of: Python, Go, TypeScript/Node.js, or Java.
- • Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines, containerized services using Docker/Kubernetes, and cloud infrastructure on GCP, AWS, or Azure.
- • Work with relational databases, perform data modeling, and execute ETL/ELT pipelines using SQL.
- • Navigate ambiguity by breaking down vague business problems into actionable technical plans and delivering working solutions with minimal oversight.
- • Communicate technical tradeoffs clearly to non-technical stakeholders to align on priorities and outcomes.
🎯 Requirements
- • 5+ years of professional software engineering experience, with meaningful time spent building internal tools, platforms, or business systems.
- • Strong full-stack or backend engineering skills; proficient in at least one of: Python, Go, TypeScript/Node.js, or Java.
- • Solid understanding of cloud infrastructure (GCP/AWS/Azure), containerisation (Docker/Kubernetes), CI/CD pipelines, and modern DevOps practices.
- • Hands-on experience building and maintaining API integrations between third-party SaaS platforms (e.g., Workday, Salesforce, Slack, NetSuite).
- • Strong data fundamentals: relational databases, data modelling, ETL/ELT pipelines, and working knowledge of SQL.
- • Comfort with ambiguity; ability to take vague business problems, break them down, and deliver working solutions without heavy hand-holding.
- • Clear communicator who can explain technical tradeoffs to non-technical stakeholders.
