📋 Description

• Lead the Platform Engineering team at Granum Inc., a remote Senior Engineering Manager role focused on infrastructure, security, and developer experience during a period of significant technical transformation.
• Own the platform roadmap as an internal product, manage a prioritized backlog, make daily trade-off decisions, and ensure the team delivers leverage to the 40-person engineering organization by treating engineering teams as customers and measuring success by their ability to ship with speed and confidence.
• Directly manage ~5 engineers across infrastructure, security, identity, and DevOps; own team health, growth, and career development through regular 1:1s, foster a blameless learning culture, and manage on-call rotation and incident response.
• Set technical direction for cloud infrastructure (Azure/AWS), CI/CD (GitHub Actions), observability (Datadog/App Insights), advocate for Infrastructure as Code, identity/access management, zero-trust security, and use DORA metrics and developer experience surveys to drive continuous improvement.
• Partner with feature teams, IT, external compliance stakeholders, and engineering leadership on platform dependencies, access management, MDM/VPN initiatives, and communicate platform strategy and progress.
• Drive impact in developer experience, security posture, identity and access management, infrastructure maturity, AI enablement, compliance and governance, and engineering culture by establishing platform guardrails, unifying cross-cloud permissions, and enabling safe adoption of agentic AI tools.

🎯 Requirements

• Significant experience (5+ years) of engineering management, including 3+ years leading infrastructure, DevOps, SRE, or platform engineering teams
• Demonstrated experience treating an internal platform as a product — roadmap ownership, stakeholder management, backlog prioritization
• Hands-on experience in multi-cloud environments (Azure or AWS required; GCP a bonus)
• Deep understanding of modern CI/CD, Infrastructure as Code (Terraform), and identity/access management
• Experience with security hardening, credential management, and compliance frameworks (SOC2, investor security programs, or similar)
• Proficiency with containerization and orchestration (Docker, ECS, App Services)
• Demonstrated success enabling other engineering teams — measuring success by their safe velocity
• Excellent communication skills with ability to influence technical and non-technical stakeholders, including external partners
• Comfort operating in an agile environment with competing priorities and incomplete information
