Senior Engineering Manager

📋 Description

• • Lead and inspire multiple high-performing engineering squads (8-12 engineers) building the next generation of GoDaddy’s customer-facing products that power millions of small businesses worldwide. You will own the technical roadmap, delivery cadence and quality bar for critical domains such as e-commerce storefronts, payments, and domain management.
• • Drive a culture of engineering excellence by establishing and evangelizing best practices in code quality, automated testing, CI/CD, observability and security. You will set measurable OKRs for reliability (99.9%+ uptime), performance (sub-second page loads) and developer productivity (deploy-to-prod <15 min).
• • Partner directly with Product, UX, Data Science and Marketing to translate ambitious business goals into executable technical plans. You will run quarterly planning, negotiate scope and trade-offs, and ensure every sprint delivers customer value that moves key metrics like GMV, conversion rate and NPS.
• • Act as a force-multiplier by mentoring senior engineers and emerging managers, conducting architecture reviews, and sponsoring internal guilds for cloud-native patterns, micro-frontends and AI/ML experimentation. Your coaching will create a pipeline of future Staff and Principal engineers.
• • Own the full software lifecycle from ideation through production operations. You will champion SRE principles, on-call rotations, incident retrospectives and chaos engineering to maintain five-nines reliability for systems processing billions of API calls per month.
• • Foster an inclusive, psychologically safe environment where diverse perspectives thrive. You will lead hiring, onboarding and retention initiatives that increase representation of women and under-represented groups in engineering by 20% year-over-year.
• • Manage a multi-million-dollar cloud budget across AWS, GCP and Kubernetes, optimizing for cost-efficiency without compromising performance. You will implement FinOps practices and negotiate enterprise discounts that save 15%+ annually.
• • Represent GoDaddy externally by speaking at conferences, contributing to open-source projects and publishing technical blogs that strengthen our employer brand and attract top-tier talent across India and globally.
• • Translate complex technical trade-offs into clear narratives for executive stakeholders, securing buy-in and funding for strategic bets like edge computing, real-time personalization and generative-AI features that differentiate GoDaddy in a crowded market.
• • Champion customer obsession by embedding user research, A/B testing and rapid experimentation into every release cycle, ensuring engineering decisions are grounded in data and directly improve the success of small-business owners who rely on our platform.
