📋 Description

• Lead Horizon3.ai’s infrastructure platform team to enable rapid product feature launches through self-service environments and infrastructure-as-code, while establishing a Site Reliability function to drive operational excellence and ensure product reliability.
• Enable feature development teams by providing high-quality IaC components, governance for self-service infrastructure, documentation, training, and support to streamline cloud provisioning on AWS, with familiarity in Azure and GCP.
• Establish an SRE function by hiring and managing site reliability staff, professionalizing incident management, defining SLOs/SLAs, implementing observability tools, and driving incident response maturity across engineering.
• Drive engineering excellence through design-before-build practices, architectural decision records, design and code reviews, blameless retrospectives, and fostering a culture of quality in platform engineering.
• Provide people leadership by managing and growing a team of infrastructure engineers, hiring and developing managers and principal engineers, mentoring high performers, and balancing roadmap execution with developer support needs.
• Collaborate with peer leaders and stakeholders to prioritize initiatives, manage capacity, and ensure alignment between infrastructure investments and business goals in a remote-first, cybersecurity-focused organization.

🎯 Requirements

• Demonstrated experience leading teams operating SaaS service infrastructure on public cloud platforms, with AWS strongly preferred and Azure/GCP familiarity a plus.
• Deep hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform), Crossplane, GitOps patterns, and managing production Kubernetes environments at scale.
• Proven experience building and operating self-service infrastructure platforms that balance developer productivity with security, maintainability, and governance.
• Experience leading or building SRE functions, including incident management, on-call programs, SLO/SLA definition, observability (APM, logs, traces, golden signals), and operational runbooks.
• Expertise in driving engineering rigor through design reviews, architecture decision records, RFCs, and coaching engineers from individual contributors to system-level thinkers.
• Proven ability to hire, develop, and retain high-performing engineers and engineering managers in remote or distributed environments, with strong communication skills across technical and non-technical audiences.
