- • As a Senior Engineering Manager for Fin AI Agent at Intercom, you will lead strategically significant work streams within the Service Agent pillar, directly impacting the performance and evolution of Intercom’s industry-leading AI customer service agent that resolves over 1M conversations weekly.
- • Your day-to-day responsibilities include owning end-to-end outcomes for high-impact initiatives, writing code when necessary, driving cross-functional collaboration, developing senior engineers into leaders, setting aggressive timelines, and adapting team structures dynamically based on shifting priorities.
- • You will partner with the Engineering Director on pillar-level strategy, providing ground-level insights to guide investment decisions, and operate within an AI-first engineering culture where every engineer uses Claude Code with unlimited tokens and advanced MCP servers to push the boundaries of AI-assisted development.

- • Active fluency in AI-assisted development: experimenting with AI tools, forming opinions on their impact on team workflows, and driving adoption of new ways of working (e.g., Claude Code, MCP servers).
- • Technical credibility: able to review architecture proposals, ask incisive questions, identify over- or under-investment, and earn engineers’ respect through sound judgment.
- • Outstanding communication skills: can align stakeholders, justify investment needs to leadership, navigate difficult performance conversations, and unblock blockers in real time.
