📋 Description

• As a Senior Engineering Manager for Privacy & Data Security at Vanta, you will lead a high-impact team responsible for building and scaling products that help organizations continuously monitor, verify, and prove their security and compliance posture—directly supporting Vanta’s mission to restore trust in internet businesses by enabling real-time, transparent security validation.
• You will drive strategic initiatives that align engineering execution with business goals, ensuring your team delivers sustainable, customer-focused outcomes while fostering a culture of technical excellence, psychological safety, and continuous improvement across a rapidly growing, globally distributed organization.
• Day to day, you will: lead and mentor a team of engineers through regular 1:1s, performance feedback, and career development planning; partner with product, design, and go-to-market teams to define and prioritize roadmap items for new privacy and data security features; oversee the end-to-end delivery of complex, cross-functional projects involving data ingestion, threat detection, and remediation guidance systems; establish and refine engineering processes including onboarding, interview loops, career frameworks, and execution rituals to support scalable team growth; conduct technical and architectural reviews to ensure long-term system reliability, security, and maintainability; represent your team in leadership forums to influence Vanta-wide engineering strategy and culture; and actively recruit, hire, and onboard top engineering talent across Europe and beyond.
• You will also be responsible for cultivating a collaborative, inclusive team environment that reflects Vanta’s values of kindness, curiosity, and accountability—promoting knowledge sharing through tech talks, lunch and learns, and virtual team-building activities while ensuring alignment with global engineering practices across offices in SF, NYC, London, Dublin, Tel Aviv, and Sydney.
• The Privacy & Data Security organization in London is at the forefront of Vanta’s expansion into emerging data protection markets, giving you the opportunity to shape innovative product experiences from concept to launch, work directly with early adopter customers to validate solutions, and contribute to foundational engineering practices that will scale across the entire company as it continues its blistering growth trajectory.
• In this role, you will deepen your expertise in engineering leadership at scale, gain hands-on experience building products in the trust and compliance space, refine your ability to influence without authority across global stakeholders, and develop a proven track record of growing high-performing teams that deliver measurable business impact—positioning you for continued advancement in technical leadership roles at high-growth technology companies.

🎯 Requirements

• Four or more years of professional experience in a full-time engineering manager role
• Proven track record of managing complex, long-term projects involving multiple teams and cross-functional stakeholders
• Experience developing or driving engineering-wide initiatives such as recruiting processes, career frameworks, or execution frameworks
• Strong decision-making skills with the ability to balance ambiguity, data, speed, and quality
• Excellent communication and storytelling abilities, with a demonstrated capacity to influence cross-functional stakeholders and adjacent teams
• Openness to leveraging AI responsibly to amplify productivity and impact, with curiosity and sound judgment in its application
