📋 Description

• • Own the end-to-end architecture of Portcast’s predictive-logistics platform, designing and scaling APIs, micro-services and data pipelines that ingest terabytes of satellite, weather and economic data to forecast 90 % of global ocean trade and 35 % of air-cargo value.
• • Lead the build-out of new enterprise-grade products from zero-to-one: translate complex customer requirements (global freight forwarders, airlines, manufacturers) into technical epics, write production-grade Python/Flask code, ship RESTful APIs and shepherd releases through Dockerized CI/CD on AWS.
• • Debug and optimise live systems under real-world load; you’ll dive deep into distributed tracing, tune Elasticsearch clusters, profile Spark jobs and ensure 99.9 % uptime for mission-critical predictions that customers rely on to price freight and allocate capacity.
• • Collaborate daily with Data Scientists, Product Managers and domain experts across Asia & Europe in agile squads; run architecture reviews, white-board scaling scenarios and mentor junior engineers while remaining a hands-on contributor.
• • Champion engineering excellence: define coding standards, automate testing, instrument observability and continuously refactor for performance, security and maintainability.
• • Stay on the bleeding edge—evaluate new AWS services, experiment with streaming data stacks, and introduce patterns that keep Portcast technically ahead of global competitors.
• • Compress years of learning into months—join as an early senior hire in a lean, high-trust team where every design decision you make is visible in customer dashboards within days.
• • Contribute to open, empathetic communication: write detailed RFCs, record Loom demos for remote colleagues, and engage thoughtfully in retros to turn friction into process improvements.
• • Drive the roadmap for scalability—architect multi-region deployments, design blue-green releases, and ensure GDPR-grade data governance as we onboard Fortune-500 logistics giants.
• • Celebrate curiosity and ownership: run internal tech talks, host hack-days on satellite AIS data, and leave fingerprints on a product that literally moves world trade.
