đź“‹ Description

  • • Join Kernel Medical Devices, Inc., a rapidly growing AI-native company revolutionizing enterprise RevOps with AI-powered company data. We are at the forefront of building an intelligent alternative to traditional entity and hierarchy data providers, empowering leading companies like Navan, Gong, Mistral, and AlphaSense to optimize their operations. Having secured $14M in Series A funding from prestigious VCs and industry veterans from Plaid, OpenAI, and Slack, we are poised for significant growth and are seeking a talented Senior Full Stack Engineer to play a pivotal role in scaling our innovative platform.
  • • As a Senior Full Stack Engineer with a strong backend specialization, you will be instrumental in shaping and scaling Kernel's core infrastructure. You will collaborate closely with product and engineering teams to enhance our product offerings and ensure the robustness and efficiency of our underlying systems. While not strictly a DevOps role, experience with AWS and Kubernetes will be highly beneficial in supporting our massive scale operations.
  • • Kernel operates at an impressive scale, processing over 7 billion tokens daily and running 1.8 million agents. Our architecture is intentionally minimalist, featuring a single database and a single queue, designed for massive scalability. The volume processed through our queue rivals that of the entire Visa network daily, underscoring the critical nature of our infrastructure. This complex and high-volume environment has been meticulously built by a dedicated and skilled engineering team, and you will be a key contributor to its continued evolution.
  • • This role offers a unique opportunity to own and evolve Kernel’s backend infrastructure, encompassing AWS, NodeJS, Postgres, and our workflow automation tools like n8n. You will be designing and implementing systems capable of handling millions of accounts, terabytes of data, and thousands of concurrent executions. Your work will directly impact the reliability, scalability, and performance of our data pipelines and services, ensuring a world-class experience for our enterprise customers.
  • • You will be deeply involved in the entire software development lifecycle, from rapid feature development for both external users and internal teams to the continuous evaluation and improvement of our code, infrastructure, and operational processes. A significant aspect of your role will involve automating manual processes to enhance both speed and reliability, freeing up valuable engineering time and resources.
  • • Beyond technical contributions, you will have a voice in shaping our product roadmap. Your insights and feedback on strategic bets and potential solutions will be highly valued, allowing you to influence the direction of the company and its technological future. This is a chance to move the company from $3M to $30M ARR by building and refining the foundational systems that power our growth.
  • • Specifically, your responsibilities will include ensuring the scalability and performance of our backend infrastructure, working collaboratively with the team on daily objectives, and implementing sophisticated mass-action workflows for CRM data cleaning, enrichment, and completion. You will also be responsible for establishing and maintaining robust monitoring, observability, and reliability practices, and partnering with product and solutions engineering to translate complex business logic into secure and effective mass actions within customer CRMs.
  • • We are looking for an individual who thrives in a fast-paced, low-structure environment, takes initiative, and enjoys contributing at pace. Adaptability and clear communication are paramount. If you are excited by the prospect of building and scaling critical infrastructure in an early-stage startup environment and want to make a tangible impact, this role is for you.
  • • This position requires a commitment to working from our central London office at least three days a week, reflecting our collaborative team culture. We are building something extraordinary, and we believe in the power of in-person collaboration to drive innovation and speed. If you are seeking a role where you can own significant technical challenges, contribute to a groundbreaking product, and grow alongside a passionate team, we encourage you to apply.
  • • You will be working with a modern tech stack including NodeJS, TypeScript, Postgres for the backend, and NextJS, React, and Tailwind for the frontend. Workflow automation is handled by n8n. This is an opportunity to work with cutting-edge technologies and contribute to a product that is defining the future of enterprise data intelligence.
  • • Kernel is a team of approximately 30 individuals, including 7 dedicated engineers and a Product Manager. You will be joining a talented group of engineers, including Founding Engineer Sam Houghton and Senior Engineers Eleanor Leung, David Saltares, Tom Ankers, and Willis Chou, all working under the guidance of Head of Product Stefan Sabev. This collaborative environment fosters learning and growth, with direct access to founders Anders (CEO) and Marcus (CTO) for strategic discussions.
  • • We are committed to attracting and retaining top talent. Kernel sponsors visas for exceptional candidates and provides relocation support for those moving to London, ensuring a smooth transition for international hires. Our interview process is designed to be thorough yet efficient, including an introductory call, a hiring manager call, a take-home task, a technical interview, and a final interview with the founders to ensure alignment on values and vision.
