📋 Description

• As a Senior Full Stack Engineer focused on our Mobile Platform, you will be at the forefront of a pivotal initiative for Bubble Group, Inc. This role is instrumental in transforming our groundbreaking no-code platform into a comprehensive solution for mobile application development, directly addressing our users' most significant request. You will play a critical role in expanding our web editor's capabilities to encompass native iOS and Android app creation, architecting robust deployment pipelines for seamless publishing to the Apple App Store and Google Play, and developing a high-performance React Native runtime that integrates flawlessly with Bubble’s existing backend infrastructure. This is a unique opportunity to shape a product that will unlock a new market, significantly impact our business growth, and empower millions more users globally to bring their ideas to life on mobile.
• Your primary responsibility will be to drive the technical development of our mobile application builder from its current private beta phase to a fully realized, scalable product. This involves deep dives into architecting and implementing features that allow users to design, build, and deploy mobile applications using Bubble’s intuitive visual interface. You will be responsible for ensuring that the mobile builder is not only functional but also intuitive and powerful, mirroring the success of our web platform.
• A key aspect of this role is architecting and implementing sophisticated deployment pipelines. You will design and build the infrastructure necessary for publishing applications directly to the Apple App Store and Google Play Store. This includes integrating these pipelines with Bubble’s existing infrastructure, ensuring reliability, security, and efficiency in the app submission process. Your work will directly enable our users to launch their mobile applications to a global audience.
• Collaboration is central to success at Bubble. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, including Product Managers, Designers, and Support Engineers. This collaboration will ensure a consistent, high-quality user experience across both web and mobile platforms. You will provide technical insights, contribute to product strategy, and help translate user needs and design visions into robust technical solutions.
• You will be instrumental in developing and refining the React Native runtime that powers the mobile applications built on Bubble. This involves optimizing performance, ensuring compatibility with Bubble’s backend services, and potentially contributing to the underlying architecture of how Bubble applications are rendered and executed on mobile devices. Your expertise will be crucial in delivering a performant and reliable mobile experience.
• This role offers the chance to work with a modern tech stack, including TypeScript, SolidJS, React Native on the frontend, and Node.js on the backend. You will leverage AWS, CDK/Terraform, ECS, Redis, and Postgres for infrastructure and backend services. Experience with AI/ML technologies, Python, LLM APIs, and LangChain is also relevant, as we continuously explore how AI can enhance our platform.
• You will contribute to the evolution of our JSON-based app representations and proprietary datasets, ensuring they are optimized for mobile development and deployment. This includes understanding and potentially influencing how application logic and UI are serialized and interpreted for both web and mobile environments.
• As a senior engineer, you will mentor junior engineers, contribute to code reviews, and uphold high standards for code quality, testing, and documentation. You will be a technical leader, guiding architectural decisions and fostering a culture of continuous improvement within the mobile team.

🎯 Requirements

• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience, with a strong preference for experience in high-growth startup environments.
• Proven experience in developing and launching new mobile products or features, with hands-on expertise in React Native, iOS, or Android development.
• Strong full-stack development skills, with proficiency in modern frontend and backend technologies (e.g., TypeScript, Node.js).
• Experience with cloud infrastructure (AWS, CDK/Terraform) and database technologies (Postgres, Redis).
