Full Job Description
đź“‹ Description
- • As a founding member of the Web SDK team at Taktile, you will play a pivotal role in architecting and developing a cutting-edge, client-side JavaScript/TypeScript SDK. This SDK is designed to abstract complex identity verification, device intelligence, and document capture processes, presenting them through a single, elegant, and unified API. Your work will directly empower financial institutions to onboard their customers securely, seamlessly, and efficiently, setting a new standard for digital onboarding experiences.
- • You will be instrumental in designing and building the core architecture of this unified client-side SDK. This involves orchestrating multiple third-party vendor scripts, ensuring they function harmoniously behind a cohesive, headless API. The goal is to provide developers with a streamlined integration experience, reducing complexity and time-to-market for our clients.
- • A significant part of your responsibility will be to build the hosted verification experience. This entails creating a secure, embeddable web application that delivers interactive identity verification flows. You will focus on crafting a polished, brandable user experience that instills trust and confidence in end-users, while adhering to the highest security and compliance standards.
- • Owning end-to-end reliability for client-side code is paramount. You will establish robust versioning strategies, implement staged rollout processes, and develop sophisticated CI/CD pipelines specifically tailored for client-side code that operates within customer browsers. This ensures stability, security, and a smooth user journey across diverse environments.
- • You will tackle challenging integration problems, skillfully wrangling diverse vendor SDKs. Each vendor may present unique quirks, lifecycle hooks, and potential failure modes. Your expertise will be crucial in making these disparate components work together seamlessly, creating a unified and dependable verification process.
- • This role offers a unique opportunity to shape both the product and the team. You will collaborate closely with Product and Design teams, as well as directly with customers, to define and refine the SDK's developer experience. As the team expands, you will have the clear opportunity to transition into a Tech Lead role, guiding technical direction and mentoring junior engineers.
- • Direct engagement with customers is a key aspect of this position. You will work closely with early adopters to understand their specific integration environments, challenges, and requirements. This feedback loop is vital for ensuring the SDK performs flawlessly in real-world, diverse production settings and for identifying areas for future enhancement.
- • You will be responsible for ensuring the SDK is not only functional but also performant and secure, considering the sensitive nature of financial data and identity verification. This includes optimizing script loading, managing browser resource utilization, and implementing best practices for data security and privacy.
- • The architectural decisions you make will have a lasting impact on the Taktile platform and its clients. You will be empowered to make significant technical choices that will scale with the company's growth and the increasing demands of the fintech industry.
- • By building this foundational SDK, you will be directly contributing to Taktile's mission of enabling financial institutions to make smarter, safer decisions through AI, by providing them with the tools to automate complex processes like customer onboarding with full visibility and control.
- • This role is ideal for a seasoned engineer who thrives in a fast-paced, startup environment, enjoys tackling complex technical challenges, and is passionate about building developer-facing products that have a tangible impact on user experience and business outcomes.
- • You will leverage your deep understanding of browser technologies, including the DOM, security models (CSP, CORS, iframe sandboxing), caching mechanisms, and script loading strategies, to build a resilient and performant SDK.
- • Your expertise in modern front-end development, including bundling, tree-shaking, and cross-browser compatibility, will be essential in creating a high-quality, widely adoptable product.
- • You will also contribute to the backend services that power the SDK, ensuring a cohesive and robust end-to-end solution.
- • This is a high-impact, high-ownership role with a clear trajectory for leadership and significant influence on the future of Taktile's developer platform.
🎯 Requirements
- • 5+ years of professional software engineering experience.
- • At least 2 years of experience building and shipping a client-side SDK, embeddable widget, or developer-facing JavaScript library used by external consumers.
- • Production experience with TypeScript/JavaScript on both client and server, including modern front-end application development, bundling, tree-shaking, and cross-browser compatibility.
- • Deep understanding of browser internals, including the DOM, security models (CSP, CORS, iframe sandboxing), caching, script loading, and performance optimization.
- • Experience with iframe-based architectures, postMessage communication, and sandboxed execution environments.
- • Comfortable operating systems in production and participating in incident response as part of a team rotation.
- • Fluent English required for documentation, code reviews, and customer interactions.
🏖️ Benefits
- • Top-of-market equity and cash compensation package.
- • Access to a self-development budget for conferences, books, or classes.
- • New Apple MacBook Pro and a meaningful home office setup.
- • Work with a highly collaborative and supportive team that values growth and celebrates success.
- • Experience a flat hierarchy with direct communication channels to founding team members.
- • Opportunities for tremendous personal and professional growth through experienced mentorship and access to a network of leading tech investors and advisors.
- • Contribute to a mission-driven company at the forefront of AI in financial services.
