Full Job Description
đź“‹ Description
- • Mochi Health is revolutionizing the healthcare industry by building an AI-driven marketplace designed to make healthcare more accessible, transparent, and affordable for patients. We are tackling the fundamental issues in healthcare, such as the difficulty patients face in finding the right care, understanding costs, and accessing necessary medications. Our innovative platform provides transparent pricing before payment, personalized medication management across providers, and long-term access to medical records, fundamentally improving the patient experience.
- • As a Senior Fullstack Engineer at Mochi Health, you will play a pivotal role in developing and enhancing our cutting-edge healthcare platform. You will be instrumental in building high-density healthcare interfaces that are critical for our clinical teams to treat patients safely and effectively. This includes architecting dynamic, multi-step medical intake engines, developing high-density provider charting dashboards, and creating patient-facing applications that meticulously manage sensitive Protected Health Information (PHI) with perfect state synchronization.
- • A key aspect of this role involves bridging the gap between complex clinical backend systems and intuitive client-side experiences. You will be responsible for connecting our intricate medication ordering and fulfillment pipelines with highly responsive frontend interfaces, translating dense and often complex healthcare requirements into seamless, user-friendly digital experiences that empower both patients and providers.
- • You will champion the user experience, going beyond mere implementation of specifications. A deep commitment to how patients and providers interact with Mochi Health is essential. This involves a keen eye for detail in UI development and the product sense to make pragmatic, high-quality design decisions on the fly that demonstrably improve patient outcomes and operational efficiency.
- • This is a true full-stack ownership role, encompassing the entire software development lifecycle. You will be responsible for designing database schemas, writing robust APIs, building sophisticated React interfaces, deploying services, and ensuring both backend reliability and client-side error tracking in production environments. This end-to-end responsibility ensures a cohesive and high-quality product.
- • Mochi Health is an AI-first engineering organization. You will not only leverage frontier agentic models to accelerate your own development process but also integrate AI capabilities directly into our product. This includes automating clinical operations and scaling provider workflows, positioning Mochi Health at the forefront of AI in healthcare.
- • You will be a key contributor to raising the overall engineering bar within the team. This involves owning critical architectural decisions across the entire technology stack, systematically upgrading legacy codebases to modern standards, and elevating the skills of your fellow engineers through rigorous code reviews, advocating for best testing practices, and establishing high technical standards.
- • The role requires a deep understanding of client-side state management and performance optimization. You will be adept at managing complex state within large frontend applications, understanding the trade-offs between server-side rendering and client-side fetching, implementing effective caching strategies, and building interfaces that feel instantaneous, even when interacting with potentially slow healthcare APIs.
- • Strong data modeling skills are crucial. You will meticulously design schemas and define API boundaries, understanding the downstream impact of foundational data models on frontend development and overall system integrity.
- • As a full lifecycle owner, you will be comfortable with, or eager to master, modern deployment and infrastructure tools such as Kubernetes, Terraform, AWS, and CI/CD pipelines. You will view deploying your own code and owning your system's reliability as an integral part of your engineering responsibilities.
- • You will be expected to be proficient with or rapidly adopt AI tools like Codex and Claude, integrating them into your development workflow to enhance productivity and efficiency. A critical aspect of this is the ability to critically audit, verify, and own the output generated by these AI models.
- • Collaboration is key. You will work in a cross-functional environment, shaping engineering requirements in close partnership with clinical, operational, and product teams, while navigating the complexities of healthcare regulations, compliance, and patient safety. A low-ego, high-standards approach to teamwork and communication is essential.
- • This role is based in San Francisco, CA, and requires a commitment to working in-person five days a week to foster strong team collaboration and innovation.
