- • Senior Fullstack Engineer role focused on building and shipping production features for a leading creator economy platform’s new Community feature, using Ruby on Rails and React.
- • Day-to-day responsibilities include picking up tickets from Linear, scoping and delivering full-stack features across Rails backend and React frontend, participating in sprint rituals, collaborating with client and internal engineers, writing code reviews, and contributing to architecture discussions around real-time infrastructure and scaling.
- • Walter GmbH is a distributed digital product agency based in Canada, working with clients in Europe and North America; the team is focused on the creator economy and online education space, with this project involving a major build for a client launching a native community feature to boost engagement and retention.
- • The role offers the opportunity to ship meaningful code from day one on a mid-development project, gain deep experience in scaling real-time features, work closely with experienced engineering leads, and contribute to a high-impact product launch with clear visibility into technical decision-making and delivery outcomes.
🎯 Requirements
- • 7+ years of full-stack engineering experience with substantial production work in Ruby on Rails and React
- • Strong proficiency with Postgres including writing efficient queries, understanding indexing, and managing migrations on live databases
- • Experience working with React in production apps, including component patterns, state management, and integration with Rails backend
- • Ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical audiences and present work directly to client teams
- • Availability to work in EST or compatible time zones (Eastern North America through Western/Central Europe) with strong overlap to EST/CET for collaboration
