📋 Description
- • As a Senior Games Analyst at JustPlay GmbH, you will be instrumental in shaping the future of our mobile gaming experiences by providing critical data-driven insights and fostering a culture of informed decision-making. You will collaborate closely with our dynamic, cross-functional Games team, acting as the analytical backbone that supports every product evolution and strategic initiative. Your primary objective will be to translate complex player behavior and game performance data into clear, actionable recommendations that enhance player engagement, optimize monetization strategies, and ultimately drive the success of our diverse portfolio of games.
- • You will be tasked with diving deep into the intricacies of player journeys, analyzing key metrics such as retention curves, progression funnels, in-app advertising (IAA) performance, in-app purchases (IAP) revenue, and average revenue per daily active user (ARPDAU). This involves not just reporting on these metrics, but understanding the underlying 'why' behind player actions and identifying patterns that can inform product development and strategic pivots.
- • A significant part of your role will involve evaluating the impact of individual game updates and new features on the overall player experience and the broader games portfolio. You will identify emergent trends, potential trade-offs, and opportunities for optimization, using your findings to influence product roadmaps and strategic decisions at a high level.
- • You will be responsible for defining, implementing, and evolving key performance indicators (KPIs) that accurately reflect game health and player satisfaction. This includes building and maintaining clear, insightful, and visually appealing dashboards and reports using leading Business Intelligence (BI) platforms like Looker, Tableau, or Metabase, ensuring that Gaming and Business teams have access to timely and accurate data for their needs.
- • Developing and refining event tracking specifications will be a core responsibility, ensuring that we collect the precise, reliable, and actionable data necessary for robust analysis. You will oversee the implementation of this tracking, working closely with engineering teams to guarantee data integrity and completeness.
- • You will play a pivotal role in our experimentation framework, planning, defining, conducting, and rigorously analyzing A/B tests. This requires a strong understanding of statistical significance, hypothesis testing, and best practices in experimentation to drive product development in a data-led manner. You will manage the testing roadmap, prioritizing experiments that have the potential for the greatest impact.
- • Collaboration is key to this role. You will work hand-in-hand with Product Managers, Designers, and Developers to translate analytical findings into concrete, actionable recommendations that directly contribute to improving our KPIs. You will also partner with Engineering and Analytics teams to enhance our data infrastructure, identify data gaps, and define the data requirements for future product development and analysis.
- • Beyond direct analysis, you will act as a champion for data literacy across the organization, promoting data-driven decision-making and empowering teams to leverage data effectively. You will share your expertise, best practices, and insights on industry trends to help drive improvements in game design, monetization strategies, and overall user experience.

A strong attention to detail and the ability to interpret complex datasets are paramount. Excellent communication skills are required to effectively present findings and collaborate with diverse stakeholders.
- • This role offers the opportunity to work on a portfolio of games, providing a broad perspective on the gaming landscape and allowing for the identification of cross-game synergies and best practices. Experience with mobile attribution and mobile analytics tools for measuring user acquisition and engagement is a valuable asset that will further enhance your contribution.
🎯 Requirements
- • Minimum of 5 years of experience in an analytics role, with a strong preference for product analytics focused on consumer-facing products.
- • At least 2 years of experience specifically analyzing mobile games, including a solid understanding of gaming-specific metrics (e.g., retention curves, progression funnels, IAA, IAP, ARPDAU).
- • Proven experience in designing tracking specifications and overseeing the implementation of event tracking, ensuring data accuracy and reliability.
- • Demonstrated experience in planning, conducting, and analyzing A/B tests, with a firm grasp of statistical significance, hypothesis testing, and experimentation best practices.
- • Proficiency in SQL and Python (including Pandas, Numpy) and hands-on experience with data warehouses (e.g., BigQuery, Snowflake).
