📋 Description

• Own and deliver high-performance Kafka consumers and producers in Go for a telecom-grade data platform processing millions of data points every 15 minutes
• Implement windowed aggregation and state handling for real-time streaming pipelines with strict latency and correctness requirements
• Design and implement retry logic and dead letter queue (DLQ) strategies to ensure data reliability across ingestion sources including DB, API, and SFTP
• Ensure idempotent writes to time-series databases (TSDB) such as Azure Data Explorer (ADX) or Snowflake
• Build adapters for diverse data ingestion sources with clean error handling and recovery mechanisms
• Implement dynamic configuration management using CRD watcher patterns within Kubernetes environments
• Write production-grade, secure Go code following performance profiling and optimization best practices
• Work within a fully cloud-native, multi-cloud Kubernetes environment (Azure-first, expanding to AWS/GCP)
• Contribute to observability infrastructure by establishing logging, metrics, and tracing baselines
• Deliver against project milestones in a fast-paced Silicon Valley startup environment with shifting priorities
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams distributed across the US, Asia, and Latin America, requiring clear communication in English under pressure
• Operate independently with zero REST API surface; all systems are event-driven, internal, and pipeline-first
• Maintain high reliability and performance standards in systems handling telecom-grade, IoT, or large-scale monitoring data
• Integrate smoothly with global teams across multiple time zones, ensuring consistent delivery despite geographic and cultural differences
• Participate in on-call rotations and incident response for critical data pipelines with 24/7 operational demands
• Maintain and evolve infrastructure using cloud-managed Kubernetes services with a focus on scalability and fault tolerance
• Adhere to HIPAA and ISO 27001 compliance standards in all code and system design decisions
• Contribute to technical documentation and knowledge sharing within the engineering team
• Operate as a self-directed engineer with minimal oversight, accountable for end-to-end delivery of pipeline components
• Maintain alignment with project timelines and quality benchmarks in a 9–12 month contract engagement

🎯 Requirements

• 4–8 years of overall backend engineering experience
• 3+ years of hands-on Go development in production environments
• Strong knowledge of Go concurrency patterns: goroutines, channels, and sync primitives
• Kafka integration experience in high-throughput, event-driven distributed systems (Avro/REST schema, performance tuning)
• Docker and Kubernetes proficiency — cloud-managed environments (Azure, AWS, or GCP)
• Experience building and maintaining data pipelines and event-driven architectures — not REST API-only profiles
