📋 Description

• • Own the end-to-end architecture of Web Summit’s flagship iOS application, the primary companion for 100,000+ attendees across Lisbon, Vancouver, Rio and Doha. You will translate complex event requirements into an elegant, performant Swift codebase that scales from pre-event networking to real-time on-site navigation.
• • Lead the design and implementation of polished, pixel-perfect UIs in SwiftUI and UIKit, ensuring every interaction feels native, intuitive and delightful. Your work will be showcased on thousands of devices during high-traffic moments, so stability and responsiveness under load are non-negotiable.
• • Craft a seamless, integrated experience that bridges web, mobile and the physical world—think QR code check-ins, live indoor positioning, personalised agendas and instant push notifications that keep attendees one tap away from the people and talks that matter most.
• • Coordinate and mentor a distributed team of iOS, backend and data engineers. You will run sprint planning, perform rigorous code reviews and champion best practices in concurrency, memory management and modular architecture (MVVM, Combine, async/await).
• • Collaborate daily with UX engineers, data scientists and event operations to turn behavioural insights into new features. You will instrument analytics, run A/B tests and iterate rapidly based on quantitative and qualitative feedback gathered on the conference floor.
• • Continuously evaluate the app in the wild—literally. You will attend Web Summit events, observe user pain points first-hand, and ship same-day hotfixes or feature toggles to improve the attendee journey before the next keynote begins.
• • Drive the evolution of our CI/CD stack (GitHub Actions, TestFlight, phased releases) so every commit is automatically tested, signed and delivered to internal stakeholders and beta users within minutes, not days.
• • Champion accessibility and localisation, ensuring the app meets Apple’s Human Interface Guidelines and supports multiple languages, dark mode, dynamic type and VoiceOver for an inclusive global audience.
• • Experiment fearlessly with new Apple frameworks—SwiftData, WidgetKit, Live Activities, WeatherKit—to surprise and delight users while maintaining backward compatibility and minimal footprint.
• • Contribute to internal tooling and shared frameworks that accelerate development across all Web Summit products, leaving a lasting technical legacy that future teams will thank you for.
