• • This role represents a critical leadership hire within Zip's Strategic Finance team. As the inaugural Corporate Finance leader, you will be instrumental in building and overseeing the foundational financial infrastructure that underpins the company's comprehensive planning, forecasting, and reporting processes. You will serve as the essential link between various business units and executive leadership, adeptly translating operational activities into actionable financial insights. Your contribution will drive the analytical rigor necessary for confident and swift decision-making across the organization. Reporting directly to the VP of Strategic Finance, you will wield considerable influence throughout the company and will collaborate closely with G&A teams, acting as their strategic finance business partner as Zip continues its trajectory of rapid scaling.
• • Your core responsibilities will encompass owning consolidated financial statements, including the P&L, balance sheet, and cash flow statement, ensuring their accuracy and consistency across all business segments. You will manage the monthly and quarterly financial close process in close partnership with the Accounting department, delivering timely consolidated results accompanied by clear variance analysis. Furthermore, you will develop and maintain financial packages tailored for board and investor presentations, effectively communicating Zip's financial performance with clarity and compelling narrative.
• • A significant aspect of your role will involve owning and refining Zip's cash flow modeling, encompassing both short-term (13-week) and long-term projections. This will provide critical visibility into liquidity, working capital, and operational runway. You will proactively identify potential cash flow risks and opportunities, collaborating cross-functionally to inform treasury strategies and capital allocation decisions. The ability to construct scenario models to rigorously stress-test the business under various growth and cost assumptions will be paramount.
• • You will lead the annual operating plan (AOP) process from inception to board approval, managing goal-setting, timeline adherence, and final sign-off. This includes owning and enhancing the financial planning and analysis (FP&A) tool and data infrastructure, ensuring its scalability, user-friendliness, and trustworthiness across the business. Driving the quarterly re-forecast process by synthesizing departmental inputs into a cohesive and well-supported financial outlook will also be a key deliverable.
• • The role extends to developing and maintaining Zip's 3-5 year financial model, clearly articulating the long-range path to profitability and outlining key strategic milestones. You will partner with the CEO, Head of Finance, and VP of Strategic Finance on crafting strategic planning narratives for investors, board members, and potential M&A activities. Translating long-range financial targets into actionable annual and quarterly operating metrics that guide departmental management will be crucial.
• • As a dedicated finance business partner to HR and People Operations, you will support headcount planning, compensation modeling, benefits cost analysis, and organizational design initiatives. Collaboration with the Real Estate team on office portfolio strategy, lease modeling, occupancy planning, and capital expenditure forecasting is also expected. Building strong, trusted relationships with G&A leaders to help them understand their budgets, manage expenditures, and make informed, data-driven decisions will be fundamental to success.
