📋 Description
- • Design and develop high-quality, production-ready distributed filesystem components and frameworks for Salesforce’s multi-tenant SaaS cloud platform used by millions of users.
- • Build scalable, efficient algorithms and systems within a distributed filesystem environment on public cloud infrastructure (AWS/Azure/GCP).
- • Research, design, and develop computer and network software and specialized utility programs to enhance the stability, scalability, and availability of cloud infrastructure.
- • Lead technical initiatives by envisioning and building new components that improve system efficiency and performance in evolving market technologies.
- • Conduct code reviews, mentor junior engineers, and provide technical guidance to foster team growth and uphold engineering excellence.
- • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align engineering efforts with shared business goals and deliver on product roadmaps.
- • Resolve complex technical issues related to distributed systems, including scalability, robustness, and availability challenges.
- • Participate in the team’s on-call rotation to ensure continuous operational reliability and high availability of owned services.
- • Troubleshoot and remediate production issues affecting distributed filesystems and cloud-based services.
- • Create, maintain, and share comprehensive technical documentation for engineers and other stakeholders.
- • Automate deployment processes, contribute to scrum ceremonies (planning, refinement, retrospectives), and improve development workflows.
- • Apply software development best practices with a focus on maintainability, testability, and long-term system health.
- • Work in a hybrid model with opportunities for telecommuting; occasional travel to Salesforce offices may be required.
🎯 Requirements
- • Mastery in systems design and platforms with 6+ years of software development experience
- • Deep knowledge of designing distributed filesystems in both on-prem and cloud environments
- • Proficiency in Java and Python, strong SQL skills, and experience with relational and non-relational databases (e.g., Postgres, Trino)
- • Proven experience designing and developing distributed systems at scale
- • Experience developing SaaS products on public cloud infrastructure (AWS/Azure/GCP)
- • Understanding of queues, locks, scheduling, event-driven architecture, and workload distribution
