📋 Description

• Serve as a senior legal advisor and strategic leader within Anduril’s Legal team, driving key real estate initiatives across the company’s expanding physical footprint.
• Lead and manage all legal aspects of complex tenant-side commercial real estate leasing transactions, including negotiating, structuring, and drafting high-value leases, sublease agreements, and related real estate deals.
• Provide expert legal counsel on property acquisitions, dispositions, and strategic real estate development projects to support Anduril’s operational growth.
• Oversee the legal review and negotiation of construction contracts, with familiarity and application of industry-standard forms such as AIA contracts, ensuring favorable terms for Anduril as tenant or owner.
• Develop and execute legal strategies to secure, optimize, and comply with state and local tax incentives tied to real estate investments, acting as the bridge between finance and operations teams.
• Independently conduct legal due diligence for all strategic real estate and construction transactions, identifying critical risks and proposing actionable solutions to enable timely deal closure.
• Advise on and manage dispute resolution related to real estate and construction matters, prioritizing proactive mitigation and efficient outcomes.
• Ensure full compliance of all real estate and construction activities with applicable federal, state, and local laws, including defense contracting regulations where relevant.
• Collaborate closely with the compliance function to ensure adherence to environmental laws, zoning requirements, and land use regulations for all properties.
• Establish and refine legal frameworks, standard operating procedures, templates, and processes to scale legal support for exponential business growth.
• Deliver concise, high-impact executive-level briefings to senior leadership on legal risks, strategic options, and recommended courses of action to enable swift decision-making.
• Partner directly with real estate, facilities, and finance teams to provide strategic legal guidance on all contracts, negotiations, and operational real estate matters.
• Maintain mastery of all forms of commercial real estate leases and market-standard negotiation tactics to secure optimal terms for Anduril in a high-velocity environment.
• Utilize advanced IT tools including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and enterprise collaboration platforms like Slack with immediate productivity—no formal training will be provided.

🎯 Requirements

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from a top-tier accredited law school
• Minimum of 10 years of focused experience as a lawyer with significant expertise in complex, tenant-side commercial real estate leasing
• Active membership in good standing with the bar in at least one U.S. state, with ability to become authorized to practice in California (e.g., California Bar membership or California Registered In-House Counsel status)
• Mastery of commercial real estate lease agreements, including deep understanding of market terms, negotiation strategies, and creative solutions for complex scenarios
• Proven ability to thrive in a high-volume, rapidly evolving environment, expertly managing a substantial portfolio of diverse projects with urgency and precision
• Willing and able to work in Anduril’s Costa Mesa, California office full-time; remote or hybrid arrangements are not available
