📋 Description

• Senior Machine Learning Scientist role at Adyen, a global financial technology platform powering payments for companies like Meta, Uber, H&M, and Microsoft, where you will design and deploy production-ready ML solutions that drive data products and business impact.
• Day to day, you will research, design, implement, train, deploy, and monitor machine learning algorithms for batch or real-time use cases including online learning, clustering, supervised/semi-supervised learning, graph analysis, representation learning, AML systems, and real-time anomaly detection using time-series modeling; develop orchestrated ML pipelines; automate experiment and training workflows; collaborate with MLOps to improve tooling; partner with product and business teams to frame problems as ML tasks; analyze large datasets to uncover insights; and define metrics, design experiments (e.g., A/B tests), and perform statistical analysis to validate model performance and business impact.
• You will join either the Insights - Diagnostics team, which builds proactive diagnostic tools using Adyen’s global payment flow to detect and explain merchant revenue anomalies via causal inference and statistical models, or the Regulatory Reporting Technology team, which automates and scales global compliance reporting across markets using ML-driven solutions.
• In this role, you will deepen your expertise in end-to-end ML lifecycle management, causal inference, large-scale data systems, and MLOps; gain influence by leading projects from ideation to deployment; collaborate across technical and business stakeholders; and contribute to ethical, innovative solutions that scale with Adyen’s mission to enable business ambition through trusted financial technology.

🎯 Requirements

• 5+ years of experience as a machine learning or data scientist
• Experience with the full machine learning model lifecycle in production flows
• Experience leveraging big data frameworks (e.g., PySpark, Trino SQL) to build data pipelines for ML model training and inference
• Strong familiarity with ML/data science tools including TensorFlow, PyTorch, XGBoost/LightGBM, Pandas, MLflow, and Airflow
• Solid grounding in statistical inference, machine learning for prediction, and causal inference; deep learning experience is a plus
• Proven ability to design and run experiments (e.g., A/B tests) with a launch-fast, iterate mindset
• Experience leading projects from ideation to deployment and communicating complex outcomes to diverse audiences
• Commitment to staying current with ML research and applying advancements where valuable
