- • As a Senior Manager of Data Engineering at Docker, you will lead a high-impact team responsible for building and scaling the data infrastructure that powers product innovation, business intelligence, and customer insights for a platform trusted by over 20 million monthly users and processing 20 billion image pulls.
- • You will shape Docker’s long-term data strategy, architect scalable platforms using Snowflake, AWS, Airflow, and DBT, and enable self-service analytics across Product, Engineering, Sales, Marketing, and Executive teams to drive data-driven decision making at scale.
- • You will build, mentor, and scale a team of 8–12 data engineers, fostering a culture of technical excellence, innovation, and customer obsession while establishing hiring standards, performance management practices, and leadership development pipelines.
- • You will partner cross-functionally with Product, Sales, Marketing, Finance, and Enterprise customers to deliver customer-facing analytics, optimize business reporting, and enable advanced capabilities like predictive modeling and anomaly detection.
- • You will ensure operational excellence through monitoring, incident response, data quality frameworks, cost optimization, and compliance with GDPR, CCPA, and enterprise security standards, while driving adoption of modern BI tools like Sigma and increasing data literacy company-wide.
- • You will have the opportunity to leave a lasting technical and cultural legacy by modernizing legacy systems, implementing a unified modern data stack, and positioning Docker’s data organization as a strategic enabler of growth and innovation.
🎯 Requirements
- • 8+ years of data engineering experience with 4+ years in technical leadership managing teams of 5+ engineers
- • Deep hands-on expertise with Snowflake, Apache Airflow, DBT, AWS data services (S3, Lambda, Glue, etc.), and Sigma or similar BI platforms
- • Proven ability to build and scale data engineering organizations in high-growth technology environments, including hiring, performance management, and career development
