- • As the Senior Manager for Coding Agent Sandboxes at Docker Inc., you will lead a critical team responsible for building and maintaining secure, isolated execution environments essential for the autonomous operation of AI coding agents. This role is pivotal in ensuring that these advanced agents can function without compromising user systems or sensitive data, making it a safety-critical position with a profound impact on developer trust and security.
- • You will be at the forefront of innovation within the Desktop & Core DX group, which is dedicated to enhancing the developer experience through products like Docker Desktop, Compose, CLI, Engine, and Testcontainers. Your team's work directly supports the core functionality that millions of developers rely on daily.
- • The primary focus of your team will be the design, development, and operational excellence of sandboxed environments. This involves deep dives into systems engineering, infrastructure, and platform development, with a strong emphasis on robust isolation boundaries, absolute correctness in execution, and meticulous handling of potential failure modes.
- • Your responsibilities will encompass the full spectrum of people management, including leading a distributed team of senior engineers across Europe and the United States. You will foster a collaborative and high-performing environment, ensuring seamless communication and alignment with both business objectives and product roadmaps.
- • A key aspect of this role is driving predictable delivery and ensuring the highest standards of operational excellence for all components shipped by your team. This includes implementing and refining processes, monitoring system performance, and proactively addressing any issues that arise in production.
- • You will be instrumental in facilitating cross-team communication, providing clear and concise status reporting for critical projects, and ensuring that stakeholders are well-informed of progress and potential challenges.

You'll also develop a high-level understanding of existing Docker functionality and participate in status reporting.
- • Within your first 90 days, you will collaborate with the team to define clear goals and success metrics, initiate career development discussions with your reports, and work on process improvements. You'll also have the opportunity to attend customer calls and oversee the delivery of a significant change or feature, potentially starting the hiring process if needed.
- • By the end of your first year, you will have played a significant role in shaping the long-term technical direction of the team and demonstrably made a sustained, positive impact on the career growth and performance of your reports. Your leadership will be evident in the team's ability to deliver complex, safety-critical systems with reliability and confidence.
- • This position offers a unique opportunity to lead a team at the cutting edge of AI integration in developer tools, contributing directly to Docker's mission of making app development easier and more accessible for developers worldwide. Your leadership will be crucial in navigating the complexities of secure AI execution environments and ensuring Docker remains the trusted platform for building, sharing, and running applications.
