📋 Description

• Own the end-to-end technical vision for Loopio’s AI platform, translating cutting-edge research in NLP, LLMs, retrieval-augmented generation, and multi-agent orchestration into production-grade systems that directly enhance how customers respond to RFPs, DDQs, and security questionnaires.
• Lead, mentor, and grow a multidisciplinary applied-science team of Machine Learning Engineers and Applied Scientists located in India, the UK, and Canada. Set clear technical standards, conduct rigorous code and design reviews, and foster a culture of psychological safety, curiosity, and relentless delivery.
• Stay on the forefront of academic and industry breakthroughs by continuously scanning arXiv, top-tier conferences, and open-source repositories. Rapidly prototype promising techniques, benchmark them against real customer data, and decide which innovations graduate to full-scale deployment.
• Architect and implement scalable, fault-tolerant pipelines that fine-tune, serve, and monitor large language models (7B-70B parameters) on GPU clusters. Optimize latency, throughput, and cost while maintaining strict privacy and compliance standards for enterprise customers.
• Design and deploy intelligent agent workflows—context-aware copilots, tool-calling orchestrators, and feedback-driven self-improvement loops—that automate complex reasoning tasks such as content generation, compliance checking, and knowledge-base curation.
• Establish rigorous experimentation and evaluation frameworks. Define offline metrics (BLEU, ROUGE, BERTScore, toxicity, faithfulness) and online A/B KPIs (acceptance rate, time-to-completion, user satisfaction) to ensure every model release delivers measurable business impact.
• Collaborate daily with Product Managers, UX Designers, and Full-Stack Engineers to translate ambiguous customer pain points into crisp ML problem statements, prioritize the roadmap, and ship features that delight users and differentiate Loopio in the competitive RFP-response market.
• Drive the technical execution rhythm: sprint planning, quarterly OKRs, architecture reviews, post-mortems, and on-call rotations. Balance long-term research bets with short-term deliverables, ensuring predictable velocity without sacrificing scientific rigor.
• Champion responsible AI practices—bias detection, fairness audits, explainability dashboards, and red-team exercises—so that Loopio’s AI remains trustworthy and compliant with SOC 2, GDPR, and emerging AI regulations.
• Represent Loopio externally by publishing technical blogs, speaking at meetups, and contributing to open-source projects, thereby attracting top-tier talent and reinforcing our reputation as an AI-first company.

🎯 Requirements

• 5+ years of hands-on experience delivering NLP or LLM solutions in production, including fine-tuning transformers, retrieval-augmented generation, and multi-agent systems.
• 2+ years of people leadership experience guiding applied ML or data-science teams, with demonstrated success in hiring, mentoring, and driving high-impact outcomes.
• Expert-level Python proficiency and deep familiarity with PyTorch or TensorFlow, plus experience deploying models via REST/gRPC, Docker, Kubernetes, or serverless platforms.
• Proven ability to translate academic research papers into scalable, customer-facing products while balancing scientific rigor with pragmatic engineering trade-offs.
• Exceptional cross-functional communication skills—comfortable presenting to executives, pair-programming with engineers, and negotiating priorities with Product.
