- • As the Senior Manager, Revenue Accounting at WatchGuard Technologies, you will be instrumental in shaping and executing our global revenue accounting and accounts receivable functions. This pivotal role demands a blend of technical acumen, strategic vision, and hands-on leadership to ensure the accuracy, compliance, and scalability of our revenue operations, particularly within the dynamic context of a growing global SaaS and technology business.
- • You will serve as the primary subject matter expert for Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) revenue recognition, with a deep focus on ASC 606. Your expertise will extend to mastering NetSuite Advanced Revenue Management (ARM) and the intricacies of SKU setup, ensuring that our systems and processes are optimized for current and future business needs.
- • A significant aspect of this role involves proactive cross-functional collaboration. You will work closely with Sales Operations, Deal Desk, Legal, and Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) teams to guarantee that contracts, Stock Keeping Units (SKUs), and system configurations are meticulously established from the outset. This partnership is crucial for supporting business growth, driving automation initiatives, and fostering overall operational excellence.
- • Your daily responsibilities will encompass a wide spectrum, from detailed execution to strategic oversight. You might begin your day by meticulously reviewing revenue close activities, analyzing deferred revenue movements, or delving into complex ASC 606 judgments for non-standard deals. This hands-on approach ensures a deep understanding of the operational landscape.
- • You will spend considerable time within NetSuite, scrutinizing ARM configurations, validating revenue schedules, and identifying opportunities for automation. Simultaneously, you will dedicate efforts to coaching and mentoring your team, proactively removing obstacles that hinder progress, and continuously refining processes across the entire order-to-cash lifecycle.
- • As the custodian of revenue audit readiness, you will be responsible for maintaining robust documentation, ensuring the effective operation of internal controls, and efficiently addressing all audit requests with confidence and precision. This includes preparing for and managing external audits, ensuring all financial reporting related to revenue is accurate and defensible.
- • This role requires a leader who can build structure in evolving environments, driven by a passion for enhancing accuracy, implementing automation, and achieving scalability. You will translate complex accounting concepts into clear, actionable guidance for both finance and non-finance stakeholders, fostering a shared understanding of revenue recognition principles.
- • As a people leader, you will set high standards for your team, providing clear direction, fostering accountability, and actively investing in their professional development. Your leadership style will be characterized by a commitment to excellence and a focus on empowering your team to achieve their full potential.
- • You will be adept at leading distributed teams across various geographies and time zones, cultivating clarity, accountability, and strong collaborative partnerships between onshore and offshore resources. This includes developing strategies for effective communication and workflow management in a global setting.
- • Your comfort with large, complex data sets will be leveraged through strong Excel and analytical skills. You will use these tools to dissect issues, pinpoint root causes, and drive accurate, timely outcomes, ensuring data integrity and informed decision-making.
- • You are energized by the prospect of optimizing and automating manual processes, taking immense pride in leaving systems and workflows in a demonstrably improved state. You possess the ability to balance the critical requirements of accuracy and compliance with the practical necessity of automation and scalability, effectively driving change in environments where processes are continuously evolving.
- • This role is critical in ensuring the financial integrity of WatchGuard's revenue streams, directly impacting financial reporting, investor relations, and overall business strategy. Your contributions will be vital in supporting the company's continued growth and success in the competitive technology market.
