Full Job Description

đź“‹ Description

  • • Lead and inspire a distributed team of 8-12 senior and staff-level engineers building the next generation of Anaplan’s AI-infused scenario planning engine. You will own the full software development lifecycle—from architecture and road-mapping to production deployment and post-launch optimization—while ensuring that every release moves the needle on customer value and market differentiation.
  • • Drive technical strategy for a product that Fortune 500 CFOs rely on to model billions of dollars in revenue, cost, and capital allocation decisions. Your leadership will directly influence how global enterprises pivot in real time when macro-economic shocks hit, supply chains falter, or consumer demand shifts overnight.
  • • Champion a culture of experimentation and continuous learning by instituting blameless post-mortems, data-driven retrospectives, and internal tech talks. You will curate an environment where engineers feel safe to propose bold ideas, run A/B tests on algorithmic improvements, and measure impact against clearly defined OKRs.
  • • Partner with Product Management, UX Research, and Data Science to translate complex business requirements into scalable micro-service architectures. You will facilitate quarterly planning sessions that balance customer commitments, technical debt reduction, and forward-looking innovation bets such as large-language-model–driven forecasting assistants.
  • • Own the reliability and performance SLAs for services that process 100M+ planning transactions per day. You will define SLOs, error budgets, and on-call rotations while leveraging chaos engineering and automated canary deployments to maintain 99.9% uptime across multi-region AWS infrastructure.
  • • Mentor and grow the next generation of engineering leaders through individualized growth plans, quarterly 1:1 career conversations, and sponsorship of high-impact stretch assignments. You will track promotion readiness via competency matrices and ensure equitable advancement across gender, ethnicity, and geographic lines.
  • • Collaborate with Anaplan’s Security and Compliance teams to embed privacy-by-design principles into every pull request. You will oversee threat-modeling sessions, penetration-test remediation, and SOC-2 evidence collection so that enterprise customers can trust the platform with their most sensitive financial data.
  • • Evangelize Anaplan’s engineering brand externally by speaking at meetups, publishing technical blogs, and contributing to open-source projects that align with our stack (Kotlin, Scala, TypeScript, React, Kubernetes, Kafka, Snowflake). Your thought leadership will help attract top-tier talent and strengthen our reputation as the destination for high-scale planning technology.
  • • Optimize cloud spend and carbon footprint by implementing intelligent auto-scaling policies, rightsizing recommendations, and green-build pipelines. You will partner with Finance and Sustainability teams to model the ROI of every optimization initiative and report progress to the executive steering committee.
  • • Foster cross-functional incident response that turns outages into learning opportunities. You will coordinate war-room protocols, customer communications, and executive briefings, ensuring that root-cause analyses lead to systemic fixes rather than superficial patches.
  • • Establish a quarterly “voice of the engineer” survey to capture sentiment on tooling, process, and psychological safety. You will synthesize results into actionable OKRs that demonstrably improve developer productivity and retention within two release cycles.

🎯 Requirements

  • • 8+ years of progressive software engineering experience, including 3+ years managing managers or senior ICs in a cloud-native, micro-services environment
  • • Demonstrated expertise in at least one JVM language (Kotlin, Scala, or Java) and one modern frontend framework (React, Angular, or Vue)
  • • Proven track record of delivering multi-region, high-availability SaaS platforms with strict SLAs and compliance mandates (SOC-2, ISO 27001, or equivalent)
  • • Strong data-driven mindset with hands-on experience in distributed data stores (Snowflake, DynamoDB, or similar) and stream-processing systems (Kafka, Pulsar, or Kinesis)
  • • Nice-to-have: prior experience in financial planning, ERP, or analytics domains; advanced degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field

🏖️ Benefits

  • • Fully remote-first culture with quarterly in-person summits in rotating global locations (all travel and lodging covered)
  • • Annual professional development stipend of $5,000 plus 10% time for open-source contributions or research papers
  • • Comprehensive health, dental, and vision coverage for you and dependents—100% employer-paid premiums
  • • Equity refresh program and performance-based RSU grants aligned to company OKRs
  • • 20 weeks fully paid parental leave, plus gradual return-to-work coaching and flexible scheduling for the first year back
