📋 Description

• Lead a team of data engineers responsible for designing, building, and scaling scalable, reliable, and high-quality data platforms and pipelines across batch and streaming architectures.
• Provide direct leadership, coaching, and career development to engineering team members through consistent 1:1s, performance management, and team development planning.
• Foster a culture of ownership, accountability, continuous learning, and collaboration aligned with the One Team mindset across global functions.
• Own end-to-end delivery of enterprise-scale data solutions, ensuring high standards for data quality, scalability, reliability, and observability.
• Translate business strategy into clear technical priorities and execution plans, aligning long-term data platform strategy with near-term delivery goals.
• Provide architectural guidance and technical direction across the data domain, ensuring adherence to engineering standards, best practices, and design principles.
• Anticipate and proactively mitigate risks related to performance, scalability, and data quality in distributed systems and cloud-based data platforms.
• Champion coding standards, testing practices, CI/CD adoption, and production-grade system development to ensure high-quality, maintainable code.
• Promote a culture of experimentation, innovation, and continuous improvement in team processes, system design, and delivery efficiency.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for stakeholders in Product, Analytics, and Business teams, communicating progress, risks, and outcomes to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Build and maintain strong cross-functional relationships to enable seamless collaboration and alignment on shared objectives.
• Drive cross-functional initiatives that elevate the organization’s overall data capabilities and support evolving business needs.
• Ensure strong documentation, system maintainability, and knowledge sharing across the team to sustain operational excellence.
• Oversee the adoption of modern data technologies and frameworks to enhance platform capabilities and engineering efficiency.
• Work remotely from India as a fully integrated member of Credit Acceptance’s globally distributed team, with day-to-day responsibilities aligned to U.S.-based business partners.
• Regularly overlap with U.S. business hours to support collaboration, communication, and alignment with global stakeholders.
• Operate under an Employer of Record (EoR) partner in India, with legal employment, payroll, and statutory benefits managed by the EoR while being fully aligned to Credit Acceptance’s team and culture.
• Uphold company values of being Positive, Respectful, Insightful, Direct, and Earnest in all interactions and deliverables.
• Remain compliant with company policies, processes, and guidelines as a full-time member of the Credit Acceptance team.

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field; or equivalent experience
• 6+ years of software engineering experience with strong expertise in data platforms and systems
• 6+ years of people leadership experience managing engineering teams
• Strong background in Data Lake and Lakehouse architectures, data engineering and pipeline development (batch and streaming), programming (Python, SQL, PySpark), and cloud data platforms
• Experience delivering enterprise-scale data solutions
• Demonstrated ability to lead teams in Agile environments
