- • Serve as a strategic advisor to marketing leaders by delivering data-driven insights and actionable recommendations that directly influence channel strategy, budget allocation, and financial performance.
- • Analyze performance across paid search (SEM), organic search (SEO), and emerging Generative AI channels, evaluating spend efficiency, keyword and query performance, organic visibility, funnel conversion rates, and lead value/ROAS.
- • Define, standardize, and own key marketing metrics that are holistic, accurate, aligned with company strategy, and designed to encourage optimal behaviors across teams.
- • Build and maintain end-to-end marketing data infrastructure from lead acquisition to revenue generation, integrating and managing Google Analytics, Google Search Console, and Google Ads.
- • Develop interactive Tableau dashboards and write complex SQL scripts to extract, transform, and visualize marketing data for leadership reporting and decision-making.
- • Conduct diagnostic and predictive analytics to uncover root causes of performance changes, test hypotheses, build forecasting models, and prototype solutions for marketing optimization.
- • Leverage Generative AI tools (Claude, Gemini, ChatGPT) to automate reporting workflows, accelerate data analysis, and evaluate the impact of AI-driven search and referral channels on marketing outcomes.
- • Map marketing processes and customer journeys to their corresponding data flows across acquisition, engagement, and revenue stages to identify gaps and inefficiencies.
- • Proactively identify opportunities to improve efficiency, conversion, revenue generation, client and talent experience, systems, tools, and cash usage through data-led discovery.
- • Collaborate with marketing stakeholders, data analysts, and business process owners to prioritize competing requests, align on metric definitions, and empower data-backed decision-making.
- • Perform detailed root cause analysis to expose critical drivers of channel performance and translate findings into strategic initiatives that move key performance metrics.
- • Work cross-functionally to align marketing analytics with financial and operational outcomes, connecting data insights to business impact beyond reporting.
- • Become a subject matter expert on Toptal’s marketing data architecture and processes, contributing to the design and scaling of a world-class marketing analytics function.
- • Onboard rapidly, shadow key teams in the first week, understand marketing operations and data storage by month one, and begin delivering insights for leadership meetings within 30 days.
- • By three months, develop proficiency in critical marketing data elements and begin assessing how marketing decisions impact financial performance.
- • By six months, solve real business problems that impact key marketing and financial KPIs, and help standardize metric definitions across the organization.
- • By one year, inform major strategic priorities, goals, and performance indicators, and lead the evolution of the marketing analytics function.
- • Communicate complex analytical findings simply and intuitively, challenge assumptions, flag blind spots, and maintain clarity under ambiguity in a fast-paced, remote environment.
- • Operate as a world-class individual contributor—driving impact through hands-on analysis, not delegation—and thrive in a high-autonomy, globally distributed team.
🎯 Requirements
- • Bachelor’s degree required
- • 5+ years of experience in data analysis, analytics, or business intelligence with a focus on marketing analytics
- • 2+ years of experience in general consulting or an analytical operations function
- • Demonstrated experience analyzing SEM, SEO, and Generative AI / AI-driven search channels
- • Proficiency in SQL and experience with BI tools such as Tableau
- • Hands-on experience using Generative AI tools (Claude, Gemini, ChatGPT) to support analysis, automation, and reporting
