  • • WHOOP is at the forefront of unlocking human potential, providing members with unparalleled insights into their performance and healthspan through a sophisticated blend of cutting-edge hardware, intuitive software, and powerful analytics. Our mission is to empower individuals to achieve peak performance by fostering a profound understanding of their bodies and daily habits. We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Materials Program Manager to join our dynamic team in Boston, MA. This pivotal role is designed to spearhead the entire lifecycle of materials readiness and supply chain execution, from the initial stages of New Product Introduction (NPI) through to the ongoing management of sustaining programs.
  • • As the Senior Materials Program Manager, you will operate at the critical nexus of hardware engineering, global supply chain management, and operational excellence. Your primary responsibility will be to ensure that the availability of all necessary materials precisely aligns with critical program milestones, manufacturing capacity constraints, and ambitious launch targets. This role demands a proactive and strategic approach to supply chain planning and execution, with a keen eye for detail and a deep understanding of the complexities involved in bringing innovative hardware products to market.
  • • You will be instrumental in safeguarding the continuity of our product lines, ensuring that we can consistently meet the demands of our growing member base. This includes proactively identifying and mitigating potential supply chain risks, developing robust contingency plans, and fostering strong relationships with our global network of suppliers. Your expertise will be crucial in enabling successful product ramps, ensuring that we can scale production efficiently and effectively to meet market demand without compromising on quality or delivery timelines.
  • • The Senior Materials Program Manager will be responsible for developing and implementing comprehensive material strategies that support product roadmaps and business objectives. This involves detailed forecasting, inventory management, and cost optimization initiatives. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, including Engineering, Product Management, Operations, and Finance, to ensure seamless integration of material planning into the broader product development and manufacturing processes.
  • • Key responsibilities will include managing the Bill of Materials (BOM) from a material availability perspective, ensuring that all components are sourced, qualified, and available on time. You will oversee the qualification and onboarding of new suppliers, as well as the management of existing supplier relationships to ensure performance, quality, and cost-effectiveness. This includes conducting regular supplier performance reviews and driving continuous improvement initiatives.
  • • Furthermore, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining detailed project schedules for material readiness, tracking progress against key performance indicators (KPIs), and communicating status updates to stakeholders at all levels of the organization. You will identify and resolve any material-related issues that may impact program timelines or production schedules, escalating critical issues as needed and collaborating with relevant teams to implement effective solutions.
  • • This role requires a deep understanding of supply chain principles, manufacturing processes, and the unique challenges associated with hardware NPI. You will leverage your experience to optimize material flow, reduce lead times, and minimize supply chain costs while maintaining the highest standards of quality and reliability. Your ability to anticipate future needs and proactively address potential bottlenecks will be paramount to the success of our product launches and ongoing operations.
  • • Ultimately, the Senior Materials Program Manager will play a vital role in delivering a world-class member experience by ensuring that WHOOP products are consistently available, reliable, and of the highest quality. Your contributions will directly impact our ability to scale our operations, innovate our product offerings, and solidify our position as a leader in the human performance and healthspan industry. This is an exceptional opportunity to make a significant impact within a fast-growing and mission-driven company.
