- • Senior Microsoft Systems Engineer serving as Technical Lead for Generative AI, Collaboration Tools, and Workplace Systems at Xenon Pharmaceuticals, a neuroscience-focused biopharmaceutical company advancing life-changing therapeutics for epilepsy, depression, and pain.
- • Day-to-day responsibilities include owning Microsoft 365 and Copilot AI platforms, managing Active Directory and Entra ID, leading Copilot governance and adoption, developing roadmaps for collaboration solutions, designing and deploying secure file collaboration and video conferencing systems, serving as primary Email Administrator, implementing sensitivity labels in Purview, documenting SOPs and architecture, managing vendors, contributing to knowledge management, ensuring compliance with GxP and SOX standards, and participating in after-hours on-call support rotations.

- • The role offers opportunity to lead enterprise-wide AI and collaboration transformation, deepen expertise in Microsoft 365 and Copilot in a regulated life sciences environment, mentor IT admins and end users, shape multi-year technology roadmaps, and ensure secure, compliant systems that support drug discovery and commercialization.
🎯 Requirements
- • Minimum undergraduate degree in Computer Science or related discipline and at least 10 years of progressive information technology experience.
- • Hands-on experience evaluating, governing, or deploying Microsoft Copilot, Copilot Studio, or Generative AI capabilities in an enterprise environment.
- • Deep technical experience with Windows 11, Windows Server OS, AD, GPO, Entra ID, Microsoft 365 (Exchange, Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive), Intune, Power Platform, Teams Rooms, Telephony, Print Services, VDI, mobile devices, laboratory computers, and endpoint security (Defender & Crowdstrike).
- • Experience with email security technologies and protocols such as Microsoft Defender, KnowBe4, SMTP, SPF, DKIM, DMARC, TLS, S/MIME, email encryption, and digital signatures.
- • Demonstrated ability to serve as technical lead and key contributor for cross-functional projects with a successful track record of balancing objectives against multi-year roadmaps.
- • Strong experience in IT Operations including ITIL/ITSM processes, with emphasis on Major Incident Management, Problem Management, and Change Management; ServiceNow experience a plus.
