- • As a Senior Network Engineer at Twilio, you will play a pivotal role in architecting, implementing, and maintaining the company's global corporate network infrastructure. This includes ensuring the robust operation of VPN, Zero Trust Network Access (ZTNA), and seamless connectivity to our extensive cloud-based systems.
- • You will be an integral part of the Identity and Network Trust team, taking ownership of monitoring network performance to proactively identify and address potential issues before they impact users or services.
- • A key responsibility will be to leverage your deep technical expertise to troubleshoot complex connectivity problems, conduct thorough root cause analysis, and implement effective solutions to minimize downtime and ensure network stability.
- • Collaboration is central to this role; you will work hand-in-hand with the security team and various other engineering departments to design and deploy a secure, resilient, and scalable global network infrastructure that aligns with Twilio's high standards.
- • You will be responsible for the end-to-end lifecycle of the global Twilio IT network infrastructure, from initial build and deployment through ongoing operation and support.
- • Maintaining an accurate and up-to-date inventory of all network assets, encompassing both hardware and software components, will be crucial for effective management and planning.
- • Proactive network performance monitoring is essential. You will track key metrics such as availability, utilization, and latency, and provide comprehensive, measurable reports to the IT leadership team to inform strategic decisions.
- • Engaging closely with stakeholder teams across the organization will be necessary to understand their current and future network requirements, ensuring that the network infrastructure effectively supports business objectives.
- • You will utilize the Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) to prioritize projects and daily tasks, ensuring alignment with overarching business priorities and agile development methodologies.
- • A significant part of your role will involve developing innovative methods and tools for testing and implementing new Local Area Network (LAN) and Wide Area Network (WAN) systems, driving efficiency and reliability.
- • You will be tasked with analyzing the existing network architecture to identify opportunities for improvement, contributing to strategies that enhance the network's efficiency, scalability, and long-term sustainability.
- • Formulating and executing strategic plans for the maintenance and upgrade of network systems will be critical to keeping Twilio's network at the forefront of technology and performance.
- • You will be on the front lines of incident response, performing in-depth network troubleshooting to pinpoint the root cause of issues and implementing swift resolutions.
- • A vital aspect of this role is the creation and maintenance of comprehensive documentation, covering network design principles, IT network standards, and operational processes, ensuring knowledge transfer and consistency.
