- • The Senior Payer Policy Analyst plays a critical role in shaping reimbursement strategies for Labcorp’s laboratory services by analyzing and influencing payer policies that impact access to testing, particularly genetic tests.
- • Day-to-day responsibilities include monitoring changes in national and local coverage determinations (NCD/LCD), commercial payer policies, and state legislation; attending payer meetings with sales teams to address denials and prior authorization issues; and serving as a liaison between Labcorp’s Sales, Medical Directors, and external payer medical directors.
- • The role involves collaborating with Segment Science and Marketing teams to understand emerging technologies and develop educational materials, policy position papers, and regulatory comments that support reimbursement for medically necessary testing.
- • The analyst prepares reports on healthcare trends, evaluates the impact of government healthcare acts (e.g., Medicare, Medicaid, ACOs), and provides insights to identify risks and opportunities for Labcorp’s business.
- • They build and maintain strategic relationships with internal stakeholders (Sales leadership, Payor Solutions) and external entities (state/federal agencies, commercial payers) to improve reimbursement outcomes.
- • The position supports the development of testimony, regulatory responses, and policy advocacy efforts at state and federal levels, ensuring Labcorp’s voice is heard in policy discussions.

🎯 Requirements
- • Bachelor’s degree and 5 years of relevant work experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience (Associate degree with 7 years or HS diploma with 9 years)
- • Experience monitoring and interpreting payer policy changes, including NCD, LCD, and commercial insurance coverage policies
- • Prior experience building strategic relationships with internal and external stakeholders in healthcare or clinical settings
- • Familiarity with healthcare revenue cycle processes such as prior authorization, coding, claims, denials, appeals, and billing compliance
- • Ability to analyze legislative and regulatory proposals and prepare policy position papers, testimony, and comments
