- • Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services using PHP and Laravel to support Airalo’s global eSIM platform serving over 20 million users.
- • Lead the architectural evolution of high-scale systems that handle carrier integrations, real-time connectivity provisioning, and B2C/B2B product workflows across 200+ countries and regions.
- • Own end-to-end delivery of critical features from concept to production, ensuring alignment with business outcomes and customer impact.
- • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define technical requirements, prioritize roadmaps, and deliver robust solutions under global operational demands.
- • Mentor junior engineers and foster a culture of technical excellence through code reviews, knowledge sharing, and architectural guidance.
- • Optimize system performance, reliability, and security for a distributed, high-traffic platform with stringent uptime and latency requirements.
- • Integrate with third-party carrier APIs and telecom systems to enable seamless eSIM activation and network switching for travelers worldwide.
- • Apply deep expertise in PHP architecture to enhance code quality, reduce technical debt, and improve maintainability across the backend ecosystem.
- • Balance rapid innovation with system stability by implementing scalable patterns, automated testing, and observability tooling.
- • Contribute to the design and implementation of microservices and event-driven architectures that support global scalability and fault tolerance.
- • Participate in on-call rotations to ensure platform reliability and respond to production incidents with urgency and precision.
- • Work autonomously in a fully remote engineering team, taking ownership of technical decisions and driving initiatives with minimal supervision.
- • Stay current with industry best practices in backend engineering and advocate for adoption of tools, frameworks, and methodologies that improve team velocity and system resilience.
🎯 Requirements
- • Senior-level expertise in PHP and experience building high-scale backend systems
- • Proven track record with Laravel or Symfony frameworks and ability to transition between them
