📋 Description

• Develop and ship new products within Workato using Rust as the primary language, ensuring high performance and scalability.
• Write, maintain, and refactor codebases that include Rust alongside existing Go and Ruby systems.
• Design and implement Proof of Concepts (PoCs) in emerging technical areas, driving successful prototypes to production or making informed decisions to de-prioritize them.
• Build high-performance, asynchronous applications using Rust, with a preference for experience with the Tokio runtime.
• Apply knowledge of data structures, algorithms, multiprocessing, and memory management to solve complex system-level challenges.
• Work with network protocols and stacks to enable reliable, low-latency communication between distributed services.
• Design and interact with both traditional relational databases and modern NoSQL data stores to support application requirements.
• Collaborate with global, distributed engineering teams across multiple time zones to deliver integrated solutions.
• Apply foundational DevOps practices including CI/CD pipelines, monitoring, and infrastructure-as-code in a cloud-native environment.
• Operate effectively within Linux-based systems, including command-line tools, system configuration, and debugging.
• Contribute to technical innovation by proactively identifying improvement areas and proposing solutions rather than waiting for direction.
• Remain adaptable to shifting priorities and open to learning new technologies, including WASM and other emerging platforms.
• Participate in technical interviews and daily collaboration with colleagues using spoken English at a professional working level.
• Be prepared to travel for business purposes, including team meetings, offsites, or client engagements as needed.
• Engage with open source communities and contribute to public repositories as a means of technical leadership and knowledge sharing.
• Maintain a results-oriented mindset focused on delivering high-quality, production-ready software with ownership and accountability.

🎯 Requirements

• Strong experience writing, shipping, and maintaining Rust code (2+ years), with proficiency in other languages such as Ruby, Python, Go, JS, or Java
• Knowledge of basic data structures, algorithms, multiprocessing, and memory management
• Experience developing high-performance asynchronous applications with Rust (preferably using Tokio)
• Understanding of network protocols and stacks
• Familiarity with both classic and modern NoSQL database technologies
• Basic knowledge of DevOps practices and Linux environment
