- • Serve as a Senior PHP Engineer contributing to Lendable’s Zable Card, Autolend, Lendable Loans, and Internal Tools teams, building and enhancing core financial technology platforms that deliver credit products to customers in minutes.
- • Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend systems using PHP 8.0+ and Symfony, ensuring high performance, reliability, and security across lending platforms used by thousands of customers daily.
- • Build and integrate RESTful APIs that improve the customer journey, enabling seamless interactions between frontend interfaces and backend financial services.
- • Participate in deep architectural discussions to evolve Lendable’s microservices infrastructure, leveraging Domain Driven Design, Message-Driven Systems, and Event Sourcing where applicable.
- • Deploy code to production immediately after feature completion using Jenkins and GitHub Actions, maintaining a continuous delivery pipeline with zero downtime.
- • Write and maintain comprehensive automated tests using PHPUnit, Behat, Jest, Selenium, and Detox to ensure robustness across unit, integration, and functional layers.
- • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including frontend, mobile, and platform engineers to deliver end-to-end solutions that align with business goals and customer needs.
- • Optimize existing lending platforms by identifying performance bottlenecks, improving database queries in MySQL, and enhancing message handling via RabbitMQ.
- • Work within a containerized environment using Docker and Kubernetes, contributing to infrastructure scalability and operational efficiency.
- • Contribute to a culture of continuous learning and technical excellence, actively sharing knowledge and seeking feedback to improve both code quality and team processes.
- • Take full ownership of features and systems from concept to deployment, making decisions that directly impact product direction and company success.
- • Engage in a highly collaborative engineering environment where resourcefulness, innovation, and clean code are prioritized over legacy approaches.
- • Participate in regular in-person socials and off-sites as part of Lendable’s remote-first culture, fostering team connection beyond digital communication.
- • Stay current with emerging technologies and industry best practices in fintech and backend engineering, proposing improvements that align with Lendable’s mission to disrupt outdated financial systems.
🎯 Requirements
- • Strong, modern PHP development experience (PHP 8.0+ is a must)
- • Ideally 8+ years of professional experience
- • A good understanding of a modern PHP framework like Symfony or Laravel
- • Strong automatic testing skills (unit, integration, functional)
- • Experience with microservices architecture
- • Experience with AWS, MySQL, RabbitMQ, Docker, and Kubernetes
