📋 Description

• Senior PHP Engineer role focused on building a new mobile finance product for Lendable’s Mexico expansion, contributing to the company’s mission of delivering fast, accessible credit and savings technology.
• Day-to-day responsibilities include developing backend systems using PHP 8 and Symfony, collaborating with frontend engineers to define API contracts, working with product stakeholders to shape MVP requirements, and applying Domain Driven Design, Event Sourcing, and CQRS principles in a microservices environment.
• Join a small, high-impact, cross-functional product team operating with a startup mindset within a profitable, fast-growing UK fintech unicorn backed by Balderton Capital and Goldman Sachs.
• Opportunity to take ownership from day one, influence technical direction, gain experience in international product launches, and deepen expertise in modern PHP, cloud-native architectures (AWS, Docker, Kubernetes), and financial systems engineering.

🎯 Requirements

• Must be based in either Europe or Mexico, or willing to relocate to Mexico
• Strong English language skills (written and spoken)
• Proven experience with modern PHP development (PHP 8.0+), including fluency in latest PHP features and best practices
• Solid grasp of a modern PHP framework such as Symfony or Laravel
• Experience with Domain Driven Design, Message-Driven Systems, Event Sourcing, and CQRS
• Excellent automated testing skills (unit, integration, functional) with a commitment to quality code
