• • As a Senior Platform Engineer at LemFi, you will be at the forefront of building and scaling the robust, secure, and cost-efficient cloud infrastructure that underpins our global financial ecosystem. LemFi is on a mission to revolutionize financial services for the Global South, empowering immigrants to stay connected to home, build financial stability, and create wealth. Our platform processes over $1 billion in monthly transactions across 30 countries, and your role is critical in ensuring this massive operation runs seamlessly and reliably.
• • Your primary responsibility will be to design, develop, and continuously evolve our AWS cloud infrastructure. This isn't just about maintaining existing systems; it's about architecting and implementing a self-service internal cloud platform that empowers our engineering teams to deploy features faster, enhances system reliability, strengthens our security posture, and ensures unwavering resilience as we continue our rapid growth.
• • You will be instrumental in scaling our AWS environment with a keen focus on three core pillars: reliability, security, and cost-efficiency. This involves making strategic decisions about resource allocation, service selection, and architectural patterns to support billions of transactions worldwide.
• • A significant part of your role will involve hands-on implementation of Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using tools like Terraform and CloudFormation. This ensures that our infrastructure is not only version-controlled and auditable but also reproducible, minimizing manual errors and accelerating deployment cycles.
• • Enhancing our observability stack is a key objective. You will improve our monitoring, logging, alerting, and tracing capabilities, enabling us to proactively identify and address potential issues before they impact our users. This includes defining and driving Service Level Objectives (SLOs) to ensure we meet our reliability targets.
• • You will contribute to and optimize our Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) pipelines, making them more efficient and robust. This also extends to contributing to our Internal Developer Platform (IDP), providing our engineers with the tools and abstractions they need to be productive and self-sufficient.
• • Supporting incident response is crucial. You will play a key role in diagnosing and resolving production issues, participating in post-mortems, and implementing preventative measures. Furthermore, you will contribute to our disaster recovery strategies and ensure our infrastructure meets stringent compliance requirements, including GDPR, PCI DSS, SOC2, DORA, and ISO27001, which are paramount in the fintech industry.
• • The ideal candidate is ownership-driven, taking full responsibility for initiatives from the initial design phase through to production deployment and ongoing maintenance. You possess a strong SRE mindset, deeply understanding the principles of reliability engineering and applying them to our platform.
• • Security is paramount. You will have a solid understanding of cloud security best practices, including encryption, Identity and Access Management (IAM), and key management, ensuring our platform and user data are protected.
• • Collaboration is key. You will work closely with other engineering teams, security experts, and product managers, communicating effectively to achieve shared goals and foster a culture of shared responsibility for the platform.
• • You will leverage your strong experience with core AWS services such as ECS, RDS, S3, ElastiCache, and networking components to build scalable and performant solutions.
• • Your expertise in IaC tools like Terraform or CloudFormation will be essential for managing our cloud resources effectively.
• • Experience with Docker and containerized workloads is expected, as we heavily rely on containerization for our services.
• • You will contribute to building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines using tools like GitHub Actions or ArgoCD, ensuring smooth and automated deployments.
• • Familiarity with observability tools such as New Relic will be beneficial for enhancing our monitoring capabilities.
• • Exposure to event-driven systems like Kafka or RabbitMQ, and an understanding of distributed architectures, will be valuable as we build complex, interconnected systems.
