Full Job Description
đź“‹ Description
- • Architect, build, and operate the next-generation cloud platform that powers every Fool product—from our flagship Stock Advisor service to real-time market data APIs serving millions of investors. You will own the full lifecycle of infrastructure, from whiteboard design to production at scale.
- • Lead the migration of legacy monoliths into a modern, containerized microservices mesh running on AWS EKS, leveraging Terraform, Helm, and Argo CD for GitOps-driven deployments. Your blueprints will set the standard for reliability, security, and cost-efficiency across the company.
- • Champion Site Reliability Engineering practices: define SLIs/SLOs, automate runbooks, and build chaos-engineering experiments that surface weaknesses before customers feel them. You’ll reduce MTTR by 50% and keep our 99.9% uptime promise while we double traffic every year.
- • Design multi-region, multi-account AWS topologies that satisfy strict financial-industry compliance (SOC 2, PCI-DSS). You’ll integrate guardrails with OPA, Vault, and AWS Control Tower so engineers can ship fast without ever touching production secrets.
- • Build self-service developer portals—complete with golden-path templates, automated test environments, and one-click rollbacks—that cut “time to first commit” from days to minutes. Your tooling will be the reason product teams call infrastructure “delightful.”
- • Optimize cloud spend through real-time cost attribution, rightsizing algorithms, and commitment-based purchasing. Last year we saved $1.2 M; your dashboards will beat that record while still scaling for 10× growth.
- • Mentor a distributed team of five platform engineers through pair programming, architecture reviews, and weekly “Failure Friday” game days. You’ll grow careers while shipping faster than teams twice our size.
- • Partner with Data, Security, and Product Engineering to create event-driven pipelines that ingest terabytes of market data daily. Your Kafka/Kinesis streams will feed ML models that generate personalized stock insights for 700 k+ paying members.
- • Own the 24×7 on-call rotation (one week in six) with blameless post-mortems and actionable follow-ups. We sleep well because our alerts are precise, our runbooks are executable, and our culture treats incidents as learning opportunities.
- • Evangelize the “Foolish” way of engineering at meetups, open-source repos, and internal guilds. Your talks on scaling financial workloads or cost-aware architectures will inspire both Fools and the broader tech community.
