- • Senior Platform Engineer responsible for designing automated infrastructure and containerization solutions using cutting-edge tools to ensure reliable, resilient, and secure systems.
- • Define, research, evaluate, design, implement, and support technology solutions for hardware, software, configurations, and processes across the organization.
- • Implement and maintain asset inventory, configuration management databases, capacity planning, performance management, and security controls including access control, authorization, and accounting.
- • Drive standardization of solutions across Interactive Brokers for all technologies, ensuring consistency in deployments, configurations, and operational practices.
- • Develop and execute tools and processes for operational management including change management, monitoring, alerting, incident response, and customer request handling.
- • Provide direct technical support to both technical and non-technical teams to define requirements and deliver solutions for new deployments, system upgrades, performance tuning, and testing.
- • Schedule and perform after-hours or weekend support for high-risk system upgrades, maintenance, and planned downtime in IBKR’s data center environments.
- • Participate in defining and executing a technology roadmap focused on innovation, automation, and process improvement to elevate platform reliability and performance.
- • Collaborate cross-functionally with internal teams to proactively resolve technical issues and deliver timely solutions.
- • Communicate complex technical concepts clearly to audiences with varying levels of technical expertise.
- • Leverage programming and scripting skills in Python, Ansible, Ruby, Bash, or Perl to automate infrastructure tasks and improve operational efficiency.
- • Utilize Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform, Ansible, Puppet, or Chef to manage and provision infrastructure consistently and reproducibly.
- • Deploy and manage containerized applications using Docker and orchestrate them with Kubernetes in cloud environments including AWS, Google Cloud Platform (GCP), or Azure.
- • Administer Linux/Unix systems with expertise in performance tuning, system monitoring, and troubleshooting.
- • Configure and maintain networking components including TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP/HTTPS, load balancers, firewalls, and VPNs.
- • Monitor system health and application performance using tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, Nagios, Splunk, and Elasticsearch.
🎯 Requirements
- • Proficiency in programming and scripting languages such as Python, Ansible, Ruby, Bash, or Perl
- • Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools including Terraform, Ansible, Puppet, or Chef
- • Strong knowledge of containerization (Docker) and orchestration (Kubernetes) in cloud environments (AWS, GCP, or Azure)
- • Demonstrated experience with CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, GitLab, or similar tools
- • Expertise in Linux/Unix system administration and performance tuning
- • Understanding of networking protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP/HTTPS) and security infrastructure (firewalls, load balancers, VPNs)
