- • Ferguson Enterprises, a Fortune 500 company with a rich history dating back to 1953, is seeking a Senior Power BI Developer to join its world-class Business Intelligence reporting team. This is a unique opportunity to significantly impact how marketing and financial data is reported and consumed across the organization, contributing directly to improved decision-making and the company's bottom line.
- • You will collaborate with key stakeholders across all levels of the organization, from business leaders to associate developers, to understand their challenges, identify critical reporting needs, and translate these into detailed reporting and dashboard requirements. Your expertise will be instrumental in developing interactive and insightful visualizations that drive actionable business strategies.
- • A core part of your role will involve scoping Business Analytics needs. This includes defining the necessary data structures for effective reporting, accurately locating relevant data sources, and architecting solutions for data automation. For more complex Extract, Transform, Load (ETL) processes, you will work in close collaboration with our dedicated Data Engineering team, ensuring seamless data integration and flow.
- • You will be responsible for the end-to-end development, publication, and scheduling of advanced, interactive Power BI reports and dashboards. These deliverables must not only meet but exceed business requirements, providing clear and concise insights into performance and trends.
- • Power BI will serve as your primary tool for driving analytics and fostering a deeper understanding of business trends. You will leverage its capabilities to transform raw data into meaningful business intelligence.
- • Proficiency in DAX (Data Analysis Expressions) and SQL (Structured Query Language) is essential for solving complex business logic and addressing intricate data needs. You will use these languages to manipulate, model, and query data effectively within the Power BI environment.
- • A significant aspect of your work will involve integrating data from an Azure SQL Data Warehouse (SDW) environment. You will be adept at bringing together multiple data tables to create robust Power BI datasets and comprehensive reporting solutions.
- • You will build advanced Data Analytics models utilizing the Microsoft technology stack, including Power BI, SQL Server Analysis Services (SSAS), and Azure Analysis Services (AAS), as well as Power BI data flows. This involves designing and implementing efficient data models that support high-performance reporting.
- • Collaboration with the broader BI Team is crucial for designing and implementing optimal data schemas. These schemas will ensure that data is rendered accurately and efficiently through Power BI, providing a reliable foundation for all reporting.
- • As a Senior Developer, you will provide essential technical guidance and mentorship to junior and associate developers, fostering their growth and ensuring adherence to best practices.
- • You will play a key role in leading business analysis activities, ensuring that reporting and dashboard requirements are thoroughly gathered and clearly documented.
- • Assisting business users with functional and data requirements will be a regular part of your role, helping them to enhance existing data models and develop new ones that better serve their analytical needs.
- • You will utilize the Microsoft Power Platform to automate reporting processes and streamline workflows, increasing efficiency and reducing manual effort.
- • A critical responsibility includes diagnosing report issues, performance tuning reports and dashboards, and implementing solutions to ensure optimal user experience and data accuracy.
- • You will design, implement, and support a platform that provides ad-hoc access to large datasets, empowering users to explore data independently and answer complex business questions.
- • This role offers the flexibility of being fully remote, based anywhere in the United States, with two positions available, split between Finance and Marketing Analytics, allowing for specialization.
- • For the Marketing Analytics focused role, preferred experience includes working knowledge of Marketing Analytics concepts such as Attribution, Segmentation, Activation, and Incrementality testing. Familiarity with various Marketing Channels (SEM, Digital, Catalog, Email, SMS, Traditional Media) and strong working knowledge of Site Analytics tools like Adobe Analytics or Google Analytics are highly valued. You will consult with stakeholders on Marketing Analytics and testing best practices to help them quantify the impact of their strategies on the business.
