Full Job Description
đź“‹ Description
- • As a Senior Product Builder Mobile (Android) at MEWS Systems B.V., you will take end-to-end ownership of product initiatives on the Mews POS Android application, shaping what gets built—not just how—within a high-agency engineering team focused on real-world impact in global hospitality.
- • Day to day, you will build and ship mobile-first systems for point-of-sale workflows, hardware integrations (printers, payment terminals), offline-capable experiences, and AI-powered features; contribute across backend and web when needed; drive architectural decisions; mentor engineers; and operate as a self-contained unit making decisions, running experiments, and owning delivery.
- • You’ll join the Front of House & POS division at Mews, a Hotel Tech unicorn valued at $2.5b powering over 5,000 customers across 85+ countries with its connected hospitality cloud, where innovation, ownership, and product thinking are central to transforming hotel operations and guest experiences.
- • In this role, you will deepen your mastery of Android/Kotlin, full-stack development, AI-assisted tooling, and product-led engineering while setting high standards for technical excellence, system resilience, and user impact—growing into a leader who shapes both technology and culture.
🎯 Requirements
- • 7+ years of experience building and shipping high-impact product experiences at scale, with significant time spent on Android/mobile
- • Strong, proven experience building Android applications using Kotlin and modern Android frameworks
- • Deep understanding of mobile architecture patterns, testing strategies, and the Android app lifecycle in production, with ability to evaluate, propose, and drive architectural changes
- • Comfortable working across the full stack—backend APIs and web surfaces—with a mobile-first mindset and willingness to own end-to-end delivery
- • Experience working with APIs, including networking, data persistence, and offline scenarios
- • Track record of maintaining and evolving long-lived codebases in production, including driving technical debt reduction and quality improvements
- • Familiarity with Git and CI/CD pipelines in a professional engineering environment
- • Strong product instincts—you care about the problem as much as the implementation
- • Comfortable defining scope, navigating ambiguity, and making trade-offs in real time
- • Experience operating without dedicated Product Managers or Designers—or a strong proven ability to do so
- • Expert in and actively working with modern AI development tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, Cursor/Claude, AI agents)
- • Experience at a product-driven company (startup, founder, or scale-up preferred)
- • Effective communication in English
🏖️ Benefits
- • Participation in our company share program
- • Best-in-class parental leave (6 months fully paid for primary caregivers, 2 months for secondary, available within your first year)
- • Unlimited paid holiday
- • Work from anywhere—enjoy the flexibility to work from other countries for a few weeks each year through our compliant and flexible Workation policy
- • Relocation options available after 1 year
- • Monthly 'EDGE' time—dedicated to Explore, Develop, Grow, and Elevate yourself
- • Flexible, hybrid working options
- • One-off home office setup budget to make your workspace your own
- • Monthly working-from-home and healthcare allowances (where local healthcare benefits are not available)
